I have no idea but a guess would be in the 1850's.

Early 1900s ? If anyone is ever near Maggie valley nc besides looking at the elk oughta go to wheels of time museum it’s got everything about motorcycles and a whole lot of neat ones to look at

Well, Harley officially started in 1903, so I'm gonna guess 1890-1895.

I’m a Harley-Davidson rider and I would love to say those boys invented the first motorcycle but I don’t think they did so I’m gonna say sometime in the late 1800’s. On another note I can’t wait to go to Maggie Valley to the Wheels Through Time Museum! From what I can tell it’s pretty awesome! They raffle off a vintage motorcycle every year. This year it’s a 1936 Knuckle Head fully restored.

I'm looking at trip also. Been to Maggie valley a few times when I was a child but never visited the Museum.

I don’t think youns will be disappointed it is very interesting and packed full of stuff didn’t even know existed tells all about the history

As a lifelong bike rider I'm pretty sure it was around 1885

Being a Harley rider also I couldn't wait to find the correct answer so I googled it:
Daimler and Maybach produced the first motorcycle in Germany made out of a wooden frame bicycle and a single
cyclinder motor that went 10 mph. I guess that makes my 1984 Electra Glide feel not so ancient after all!

Here's the answer to when was the first motorcycle mad?
For those of you who guessed 1885 you are correct.
What I thought was interesting is that the first motorcycle was actually steam powered and required a boiler to operate.
Now I just wish I wouldn't run out of steam so easily.
