I’ve noticed. It’d be nice if we talked fishing as intended and we could help each other out.

Hello all,
I am curious if anyone has direct experience chartering any boats out of Cozumel or Costa Maya that they’d recommend? It’s been about 10 years since my last visit to that area of the world and I honestly thought the floating turd we were on that day was going to go down. It made for a less than stellar trip. I’d like to avoid a similar outing this time around.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Thanks. I assume no issue with rods and reels, i am concerned what they’ll think of 14” cuda tubes with a pair of 4/0 treble hooks. They look like pirate boarding gear! LOL

Anyone have experience carrying gear onto a cruise ship? I will not be happy to have lures, etc. confiscated at the terminal.

Do any of you have experience with fishing poles that are telescopic? I’m thinking about getting one so when I’m traveling I will have it with me. I’m currently camping by theJohn Day river and I don’t have a fishing pole with me. The pole I use for my boat trips doesn’t come apart.

I’ve owned and used several. The wife and I cruise a lot so it’s great to have a suitcase packable rig for flying. I advocate that you buy a low end Chinese rod or rod / reel from Amazon, as I’ve known known a more expensive setup to be much better. They typically will fail in time, so it’s nice to be disposable in terms of cost. I’ve caught 20lb redfish on them and have done well. I normally buy the rod and pair it with an old 4000 series Penn reel /I have.

Caught this 24" brown trout in a creek in the Smoky Mountains, NC a few days ago! And then yesterday I caught an 18 incher... Searching for the granddaddy now!

I love fishing out there! About 2 hours from my home in GA.

My thought exactly. I assumed I’d hit something sizable at some point.

Better fisherman? He who finds and catches the biggest fish, or he who catches a fish smaller than his gear? 😂😂😂
