I still have one just like that. Can't believe I haven't lost it. Must be 60 years old.

Love Conowingo! I agree with comments above. Use what you use at the dam but you don't have to cast a mile with a 12ft rod into the spill. BTW they're called rockfish for a reason, just sayin'.

I know they get them at IR inlet very early and dusk+. Tough fishing there but you can score. White bucktail with white shad or paddle tail has worked for me.

Thanks C. I heard they found some snakes in there. Can't imagine their population making a big dent, not yet anyway. I typically go mid week. Wednesday I was one of 2 boats out there. Not giving up but just looking for feedback.

Guys do fish it for muskies. Typically they either live line a crappie or sunny under a float from shore or troll large spoons or plugs from a boat.

Anybody out there fish Marsh Creek? I've been fishing there for 30 Years on and off. I would always catch at least a few bass and a few other species, perch, crappie etc. Maybe it's me but in the last few years, more so in the last couple, I've got the skunk. I'm thinking it's got to do with stocking tiger and pure strain muskies. Am I off base or just lost my freshwater touch?
Any feedback?

White perch and catfish mostly. Occasional striped bass, but mostly shorts. Use bloodworm (best) or fish bites with small hooks for perch. Cut bait for catfish. Good luck.
PS white perch are tasty. Learn to filet them and think about fish tacos😊

This time of the year the water has warmed up to the point that most of the flounder have moved out. In the spring there is a viable fishery right in the canal. Right now I would head out to the inner/outer wall and drift sand fleas next to the rocks for sheepshead. Can pick up a striper or tog that way too. Other option is to head to reef site #8 ( about 5 miles). Croaker, weakfish, kingfish, and more in abundance. Good luck.

Thanks Gordon. I'll pick up some spoons and hopefully give it a try.

I know there is a fairly reliable fishery for Spanish mackerel trolling the inshore ocean along the Delaware coast. I am an experienced fisherman but know nothing about how to go about putting together a catch of these critters. Trolling methods, tackle or general locations etc. would be appreciated. How about it guys?

As they say, you can never go back. I fished Dbay for many years. It's still a viable fishery for Fluke( flounder). Also bay smalls like croaker, kings, puffer etc. It's also loaded with juvenile weakfish. Sadly they depart in the fall and never reappear. Weakies winter offshore. Something is decimating them there. Probably those over protected sandbar sharks.

Incoming especially at dusk. Use metal. The blues run regularly.

Yes, it is possible. I always collect broken rods I come by for this reason. You have to know how to thread wrap as in a guide. Find a suitable diameter section of an old rod. Fit it in the larger section and epoxy it in place. Slide the narrower section on and epoxy that. Wrap the entire broken section with rod thread extending beyond the break. Epoxy the threads and turn the rod continuously til it sets. I've had rods like that function for years.

You can catch either from the inlet area. For flounder, toss a live minnow with minimal weight just beyond the rocks. Best toward the campground. For stripers(rockfish) try a bucktail with a plastic paddle tail at dawn or sundown. Full disclosure; very tough place to fish. You will lose tackle and if you hook something it's a challenge to get it in. My rock climbing days are long behind me, but if you're spry wear some corkers etc. And you can get closer to the water
