Mepps and Rapala Hands Down
I have two 10 lb channel cats in my Koi pond and on warn days I offer them food .The koi eat but the catfish are not interested .Its shrimp pellets and the ctfish love shrimp pellets.
Is the lake still very very LOW?
It says right on the label fish oil on wd40.
I like the UglyStik Tiger because they are made with E glass and are tough as nails.Stay away from the Graphite rods that are brittle .
I will take a fiberglass rod over graphite anytime.Graphite is brittle and I have seen many high dollar graphite rods with the tip broke off.I owned fiberglass rods for 50 yrs and they never broke.
Don't forget the oh jesus Plug .
If I am on the Mississippi river fish for catfish with a 6 oz weight I use a swivel,if I am on a trout stream in colorado fishing for trout with a spinner then I tie it direct no swivel on the spinner or on the line.I catch a lot more fish if tied direct.
I got throat cancer from eating beavers.
We had a ranch in Colorado and I had a permit to shoot beaver but I could not pelt them,They are a real pain if you are trying to move water to grow hay.The beavers will stop up the ditches and every morning I would go unstop them.I used explosives to blow up their lodges but never got them all.I moved to Amarillo Texas and bought a lot on a Lake just outside of amarillo and the beavers started cutting down my trees there.I wrapped metal around the trunks of the trees and that stopped it.In most cases when you encounter a beaver on the water he will hit the water real had with his tail and go under. The tail thing is a warning to other beavers.
Ok here is the best , Use a Mepps #2 silver on sunny days gold on cloudy days.Always fish upstream ,use a fan pattern.Start by throwing up stream near the bank then move out about 4 feet and keep doing that until you are casting near the bank behind you downstream. In a ditch use a fly rod with a worm on it.If the fish can get under the bank they will ,so fish the worm deep as you can. When the river is murky or in flood stage fish at night ,look for slack water pools near the bank, fish come into the pools to rest and feed. Use a worm on spincast or fly rod. This is a method I developed over years of stream fishing every day on the lake fork of the Gunnison river. We had 3 1/2 miles of it running thru our ranch in lake City colo.
I have one that is what you see ,big circle of fish.
I woke up this morning as nervous as two cannibals having sex
Number one best bait for bluegill is worms.
