I just started this year catching bait with a casting net. Lots of fun. Only problem so far is keeping them alive. Point of getting a casting net was to save on buying bait. Now you have to get aerators and salt etc to keep shad or minnows alive.

That story is very good and well done. Liked the part where the guy said "There is hero in each of us". So true. You never know what you are capable of until your back is against the wall.

Walleye fishing Brookville reservoir Indiana

Fished there last night. Didn't get any walleye. Kept getting catfish. Usually use a nightcrawler on a jig head. Troll or drift fish if wind is strong enough. Not sure where the walleye were hiding last night.

Trolling motor on pontoon

Has anybody done something like this with a trolling motor. I would like to mount a transom trolling motor to the front of a pontoon by placing the clamp upside down and mounting upwards. Then loosen the hand control and spin 180 degrees so that you can steer with it. All pontoon trolling motors are very expensive and will be in the way at the front where we always get on and off of boat. This way in the future when my wife may be in a wheel chair I can still get her on and off. Also the standard pontoon trolling motors mounted will not let the front door open.

Brookville Indiana has some good crappie. Fish by the trees sticking up out of the water. Right now the pool is down and they are at the mouth of the inlets.
