I just started this year catching bait with a casting net. Lots of fun. Only problem so far is keeping them alive. Point of getting a casting net was to save on buying bait. Now you have to get aerators and salt etc to keep shad or minnows alive.
Live bait is illegal around here, and for good reason. People move so-called baitfish around and end up creating havoc in systems where they survive and don't belong. $7m in taxpayer money to remove tui chub from one lake. Ridiculous!
My uncle taught me that when I was just a kid not only use Notes to get them but I have fished for them
