Buy the Hobie.
You don’t have to lift pedals out of water when it’s shallow.
Seat in the better Hobies is really confortable.

As a fellow old guy the Hobie was my choice. Also the Hobie has a electric trolling motor that fits in the slot for the peddle. When legs get tired you have extra available to take over as we all get older.
A sail is also available.
I own the pro angler which can carry 600 lbs. and you can stand up to fish or look for signs on fish.

FWC has added catch and release for speckled trout, redfish , and snook along Pinellas and Pasco counties from Anclote River south . This will continue until 11 Oct ,2021 and be visited again at that time. The red tide at that time will be a determining factor for lifting the restrictions. As well as the amount of lost fish during the time up to 11 Oct

The fishing around Tarpon Springs especially going south is basically shut down. FWC has returned snook, redfish, and speckled trout to catch and release until sometime in Sept and possibly longer depending on how long Red Tide sticks around.
We just returned to normal fishing of these species on 1 June after 2 years of catch and release. This can't be good for charter captains and tourists. Beaches are a mess with all the dead fish. Also not good for us locals who like to bring home fish for the dinner table.

The catch and release restrictions for speckled trout , snook, and red fish are over for Pasco and Pinellas counties .
Check on any rule changes over the past 2 years .
Finally a chance for fresh fish for dinner.
Red tide please do not return !!

Tie a whole clam on a # 5 hooks on a high low rig and 3-4 oz pyramid lead weight
Adjust the weight according to the wind

Use elastic string to tie on the clam wrap the clam around the hook.
Sand spike the rod and enjoy the view

Do not walk away from the rod

I went to Island Beach State Park just before sunrise. Park in small lot just past main gate. Walk to beach and head south. Cast 25 ‘ in areas with small trough and reel in slow. Use high low florocarbon rig. Attach 1/2 oz white buck tail to lowest loop and a 4/0 hook to upper loop. Put white 4-5” worm on upper hook. FLOUNDER await you. High or incoming tide best.

Thanks All
Lots of wind blowing off the ocean kind of put the damper on today’s fishing.
Tomorrow is another day

Headed to my new, for me, condo on the beach for a few days. What does anyone suggest to start. Which bait and tackle is friendly for advice and has nice selection of tackle. Fished at Melbourne several years ago . Need good advice for this time of year. Not the best time of year, but what's the point of being on the beach if not to fish !!
Thanks !!
