We use tube jigs all the time for crappies and sunfish in Minnesota they work all year long use red. Pink white & yellow.
I have not eaten but I herd if you take the blood line out of them there ok

I have a 16 ft competter here an a 1995 f150 that I leave here so I can get the boat in and out with out bringing my truck down each year I have a Prius and can drive it down here for less than 80$
I have a park model trailer in Zapata Tx on veleno bay at Lake Front Lodge. We go down to the dam to put in or take the river down to Tigers to fish for crappie, and fish for LMB all over.
Great pictures RJS I just moved down to Falcon Lake in Tx will be here till it worms up in MN. I winter here this is my 6th year now. Hope to catch some fish this year.
