Fished a pond in Ghent, NY last week, just to get in the swing again. Didn’t expect to catch a thing, 41 degree water, but I was pleasantly surprised by a few nice bass. (My boot is 12 inches long).
Everyone is right - difficult to ID - but its a Pall Mall 🤗
I found this photo of my father, mid 1950s. I never saw it before, and he never spoke of fishing at Camp Desden, Florida. He might have been a Major in the Army by then.
I would like someone to help me ID these fish; I think Grouper and some others.
Thanks -
What do you all think?
I have never made a mistake. I can say that here, cause those that have seen’em aren’t reading this 😂.
I had no clue lake Stripers got that large!
Yeah. Same in the east river & up tge hudson.
Every one I get is because I attract them. Fast moving shining lures - especially like light color eel lures. I think trolling wouldn’t be very productive in a kayak for them.
Sweet! I’m fishing Lake Erie next week, at Erie.
What bait did you use?
Anyone here fished it?
If so - thoughts - suggestions, etc.
Bad week. Cold front came in (?) Hit your spots numerous times, nothing. Did catch at the Marsh Winds Condos, left side of the bridge from the ramp - fished left side of the dock there. No trout, a few Reds.
At the Jetties 2nd day, before the weather turned, got a couple slot Reds and a bushel of Blackfish.
It was weird - no bait moving/jumping - no shrimp jumping - no birds in packs - did see one(one out of like 30) Dolphin get onto something like they do up against the bank.

I just 🙏🏻 that a storm doesn’t head in or around before I get there. My timing the passed two trips have been near fishless due to the water being too clear or too wild.
But I still enjoy the trying. Again thanks for your spots.
Thanks Gordon! I can read it nicely. You’re always a great help.
Took your advice - in November going to try in SC behind and around Folly Beach area.
