You proved that, thankfully, there are still "Cleavers" in this world although it seems like even Eddie Haskells would be welcome these days.

Well said!!

Thanks Mark. I'm not sure about the hotter temperatures , but they've been crying wolf about the increase in hurricanes for 20 yrs and they haven't been correct yet.
We're still waiting for the oceans to rise and drown us all.

I don’t believe most of what’s said. The oil spill in the gulf was “the end of the gulf” Between man and Mother Nature it was restored in less than a year.
I see one change—the world changed from black and white to color

Do YOU think that you did wrong? Never apologize for doing the right thing. Thanks to the woman who helped her also!

No. I guess I was surprised by his reaction. Maybe his son and daughter had told him the same thing at another time. It’s not the Leave it to Beaver world that a lot of us remember

Good for you getting out there and avoiding the skunk. Still a little cold for me although they’re saying high 60s next week. Also saying it will be hotter than normal this summer with plenty of hurricanes this season. Mother natures pissed.

Thank you all for your support and comments! Looks like we’re all in agreement. And we represent a wide section of the country. I was horrified thinking of what might have happened.
I just wanted to open his eyes to it.
I complimented him on how cute his granddaughter was first.
I guess the words would play differently depending on your local culture. Living 45 minutes from NYC I believe I was kind.
I would rather NOT mind my own business than risk the horror of the consequences for grandpa and granddaughter.

I was sitting at Dunkin Donuts drinking coffee when a man came in with his granddaughter who was around 3 years old. She was running around unsupervised while he was ordering at the counter. At one point she was half way out the door when a woman coming in turned her around. As a grandfather myself I was horrified by this. I got up to leave as he was leaving and on the way out I commented on how cute his granddaughter was and how maybe he should keep a closer eye on her explaining how she almost made it out the door. He was visibly upset by my comment.
My question—other than possibly putting myself in harms way….
Was I right?
Or should I have kept my mouth shut?

Steve—Happy to hear your mom is doing better. Nothing like a mother’s love! My mom came out of a coma for my sisters birthday.
That’s a lot of bricks! You grew up on the set of The Last Picture Show! I had an Army friend from Dodge City Kansas. We drove all night from Ft Sill Oklahoma. When the sun came up you could see his ranch in what looked like a development. It was so flat the ranches were 5 miles apart and they looked like they were close.
I’m praying for you and your mom.

Welcome to the stage DLB!
I’m a mile from Long Island Sound but other than fishing the Norwalk pier with my granddaughter once in a while, I concentrate on fresh water.
There is some good fishing on the Mianus River in Greenwich where it meets the Sound.
Good luck and post pictures of your catches.

Actually Andy I'm an Oldsmobile guy myself. 7 Cutlasses, a Rallye 350, a 442, an Omega, a Cutlass wagon, and a 2dr 98.
As far as AMC goes, the AMX was their best attempt, IMHO.

I swapped a bathroom vanity for an AMC Gremlin. The design was ahead of its time. Liked Oldsmobiles and the song

Nice catching Fred! Especially this early in the spring.
(It must be spring Fred’s out there)
Seriously back to cold yesterday, a little better today.
Can’t wait until the green slime is over. My oak trees turn my truck green.
Warmer days are coming. Probably go 40s to high 80s overnight.
No spring -no fall- no more. .
