I have a few Ugly Sticks... Love them. They are durable and yet sensitive for those light hits.
Jus keep it simple. I suggest A rod you are comfortable with, spin reel, and simple plastic baits. Good luck. Hope you enjoy fishing like us.
Best of luck for a great outcome.
Slip. easier to set different depths.
GoodLuck at Marsh Creek. Lots of rocks and submerged weeds. Fishing can be tough.
Marsh Creek and Brandywine river are great fisheries in E PA.
I use Ugly Sticks for all applications; jigging, surface lures, and the bobber.
I find that sent and aiming at where they ambush prey is key. I look for weeds even if it is under the surface.
Another good day for pan fish from the bank.
For Spinning reels, I have used floor, and mono. Braid doesn't work very well.
Brandywine creek is a good place to start. Check with the local bait shops for conditions. Hope to see you out there
I guess I am not alone. I might go to the ranger station to ask if they could put up a sign for boaters to be more courteous.
The other thing that drives me nuts are the kayakers that are not watching where they are going. Either over my line, or making "waves" close to your shore location.
Let us know how it goes...
From Eastern PA. Out the other day. Saw some big females in the shallows. Some were in the deep
>20 ft. No bites on cranks and Texas worms. OH well maybe next time.
