Ok, I read the CNN article.

Did you?

It's about how other news agencies are in the fog.

yes and the first example was cnn. I think you miss my point I'm not defending any news org. I just said cnn reported it and drew false conclusions first report in their rush to be first they got it wrong and had to correct it, fox reported it but did not at first state who was responceable until later now sometimes they have rushed to be first and gotten it wrong but not this time my point being often the common man has a more accurate understanding than the news agencies who have a political bias

Ok, so what? I guess CNN got it right even earlier.

FOX didn't get it right until 2 days later on the 18th. (All of the earlier articles were filled with he-said-she-said finger-pointing.)

but did they get it wrong before they got it right

You should check your facts before you post.

Kevin McCarthy may have proposed it as a concession but the House majority approved it.

To me the rule change is NOT THE PROBLEM, since the threshold for bringing a motion to vacate was just a single member of Congress between 1910 and 2019 (when Democrats took the majority). That year, the House modified the rules to allow a vacancy resolution to be brought only “if offered by direction of a party caucus or conference" — a much higher bar.

The new/current rules package, only changed the procedure for a motion to vacate back to how it had existed before, giving any member the power to raise it. (Since when did trashing something the Democrats become a bad thing?)

The rule itself just invites chaos speaker removal should not be simple majority but 2/3 and only for misconduct or violating house rules not for political disagreements. this would go a long way to avoid a few disgruntle members from holding up the whole work of the house. They elect a new speaker every 2 years that is the time for them to v**e for a person that they think will do the best job not every time the speaker takes a v**e or position they don't like. This is crazy and they have really shot themselves in the foot or higher up this time, instead of dealing with the boarder, the war, the p**********l misconduct they have closed things down and are doing nothing productive. Far better to get 85% of what you want done instead of 0% and while those 8 republicans enabled this whole shut down the democrats are happily allowing it to go on neither side is looking out for what is best for our nation but what is good for their partisan politics

[quote=Jeremy]Yeah so. I never believed it as it was reported but you need to blame who told the news agencies what happened. Oh maybe the grumpy fishermen were over there regardless of what has been recommended. Were they Palestinian Fishermen? Israeli ? You and your buddies ? Just curious. ....

Jeremy you miss the point the blame is not on who told the news agencies what happened when it comes to their reporting but on the news agencies who did not verify and do some confirming of the the facts before reporting it. If you and I and the other ol grumpy fishermen had the common since to doubt the validity of the story why didn't several of the news sources. CNN reported Israel bombed a Gaza hospital and 500 dead. That was irresponsible reporting considering the source. Fox reported hospital bombed in Gaza Hamas blames Israel and says 500 dead but Israel denies bombing the hospital and is looking into the bombing. now which one was more accurate in their reporting. One accepted the story as true and laid the blame on Israel the other reported the event and accusation but also reported Israel's denial and that they were looking into it. Then there were the old grumpy fishermen like you and me that just flat out didn't believe it at face value because we considered the source and past history of both Israel and Hamas. by the way we were not there but neither was CNN or Fox we all just were reacting to Hamas's press release. As it turns out we now know thanks to Israel releasing secretive intel along with the US releasing our own intel that what happened was a missile was fired from the cemetery next to the hospital and it malfunctioned and came down on the parking lot outside of the hospital and actually did minimal damage to the hospital and had far fewer than 500 casualties and Hamas was just using it as war propaganda to gain world support for their cause. so how should it have been reported? maybe something like this "Hamas claims that Israel bombed a hospital and their were 500 casualties but Israel denies they had anything to do with it and is investigating who was responsible. We need to be careful not to assign blame until all the facts are known as of this time no evidence has been given that Israel was responsible." but of course our "news agencies" are so political motivated at this time they want to rush to put the blame on who ever that furthers their political leanings, which leaves it up to the grumpy old fishermen to use common sense when evaluating the news stories and common sense more time than not turns out being what is correct

Not a bunch of grumpy fishermen. If you watch several sources you can definitely see a difference especially a week or two later when the rest of the story is revealed.

actually a bunch of grumpy ol fishermen I bet have a better accuracy than a lot of news sources have been such as CNN and NBC in particular. most recently who got the Gaza hospital bombing right from the get go I think fox from ste start reported it correct while CNN and NBC accepted the hamas report that it was Isreal and I bet most of the ol grumpy fisherman from the very beginning doubted the story because common since was Isreal does not bomb hospitals and hamas does and their rockets are very unreliable so on the face of it, the initial report that Isreal did it was very questionable

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) told reporters after the third Speaker v**e, which Jordan lost by his highest amount yet. “So we’ve made them an offer. (In exchange for v****g in Jordan) The eight of us (that conspired with the Democrats to oust Kevin McCarthy) have said that we are willing to accept censure, sanction, suspension, removal from the Republican Conference.”

The Conference should:

1. Get their offer in writing.
2. V**e in Jordan
3. Send all eight to the curb
4. Oust Jordan and replace him with someone/anyone that can get shxt done!

May not be the most optimal solution for ending all the fluster clucking started by Matt Gaetz but it sure beats giving concessions to Democrats to do it.

It time for the Conference to put their big boy pants on and get back to the job of governing.

while I do not agree with the eight and what they are doing I don't see how kicking them out of the republican confress accomplishes anything. they never should have agreed to the any one person could call a v**e to remove the head of the house. bottom line all were elected democrats, Republicans and all and the rule is it takes a majority v**e of all to win leader of the house which means they need to find someone the majority of all can agree upon or look like the useless body that they have become

Every time or occasionally?

I prefer Ballistol. And also debating whether I should just start spraying my tools when I get back.

I don't nessisarilly spray them everything but atleast every week or so and like I said after Takei g them out of the bucket I set everything out to dry and when I am putting stuff back a way later on that day I'll Spray them. but you are right anything that has need out in the salt water environment will start to corrode pretty quickly if just left laying around for a couple days. I use to stop by a self serve car wash on the way home each time and spray off my boat, motor , trailer and car but now just do it at home

Hmm. I just read about this product. Sounds interesting. I'm not exactly dealing with salt buildup. But it's possible this might be what I need.

What do other people do to keep their pliers and scissors and other tools in working order when saltwater fishing?

I just fill a bucket with it in it. and toss my lures, pliers, dodgers ect in it while I hook up the hose to the motor and flush it out then jut take then out and rinse and set aside to dry. I don't use salt away every time out in the water lot of time just water but do use it a couple times through out the season. I also spray the scissors, pliers and so forth with wd40.

I noticed that my tools get rusty even though I rinse them with fresh water after every fishing trip.

Pliers and scissors cease. Some sign of rust on other tools. I can soak the tool in oil and get it back to working condition. But I would like to prevent it rather than dealing with it afterwards.

So I'm thinking that baking soda dissolved in water creates a slightly alkaline solution. Would that help in dealing with possible saltwater corrision?

I want to pour a bucket with water, dumb some baking soda in it, and put a lid on it. And then just reuse it every time I come back from a fishing trip.

Would soaking my tools in this bucket for 10 minutes or so before rinsing them off be of any benefit?

I don't know about baking soda but you can get "salt-away" and rinse your tools, fishing gear and run it through your motor to get rid of the salt.

I recently seen this article online, thought that would be great, but I wouldn't have a clue what to use to catch pikemillows with. It was truly a great read though. Thanks for sharing Keith

in a lake I fish in washington they stocked tiger muskies to keep pike minnows in check which gives you a chance to catch the tiger muskies but you can only keep 1 over 54" or something like that. never caught them but have caught pike minnows on a simple worm harness and spinners. my least favorite way they use to get rid of the puke minnow is to poison the lake and then restock with the desired fish.

So Biden called Saudi Arabia a pariah and then asked them to increase oil production. They told him to Pound sand and reduced production. I never heard President Trump idolize authoritarianism, but I have seen the left practice it over the past 3 years. Trump knew how to be a diplomat and get along with other leaders. You can say someone is smart without agreeing with their ideology. I think Xi is a very intelligent man but despise his politics. No one held Chinas feet to the fire more then Trump, while the Biden family took millions from them. It’s really a shame you can’t admit what a disaster the whole Biden administration is and all the suffering he has caused millions of America.
