I caught and released a nice 14 lb flathead catfish the last time I fished Eagle Mountain. So I know they’re out there. I was trying to catch bass using a black and blue jig but was quite happy with the fight. 🙂. Good luck, I hope you catch a few nice ones.

I was reluctant to share this then thought what the heck I promised I would post my first catch and here it is guys. Right after I landed this big guy a guy next to me caught a 28 lb. Catfish. We were at cozadale lake. So now you know I have a sense of humor.

Better than mine!

I haven’t been out lately. You might also try a search on the TexasFishingForum. Here’s the March 15th TPWD update

Grapevine
FAIR. Water clear; 55 degrees; 0.81 feet above pool. Check the wind and weather forecast before heading. Fishing has been best noon to the evening. Gulls are leading the way to schooling white bass. White bass are good with slabs and jigging spoons off the bottom in 24-27 feet of water. Crappie should be on flooded brush. Catfish should be in deep channels suspended in 30 feet using punch bait. Bass should be moving shallow to spawning areas. Target rocky points casting craw patterned soft plastics. Report by Omar Cotter, Luck O’the Irish Fishing Guide Service

Ok, I’ll play.
Arizona has lots of strippers. There are fat strippers, skinny strippers, short strippers, strippers that sing….🙂 You know, like Bubba Gump Shrimp; only strippers.

Do any of you understand how house bill 3164 pertaining to split use water rights will help fish? I have some assumptions but am trying to find out more about it?

I googled it. However I didn’t read it or try to understand what it is proposing. Hope this helps.

You might try Eagle Mountain Lake if you haven’t already. It’s just north of Fort Worth. At first I thought I had hooked what was going to be my PB largemouth bass, but it turned out to be a 14# flathead; bouncing a black and blue jig on the bottom. If I caught a flathead without trying maybe….
I agree with El Rod about using live bait. Bluegill is probably the best bait for flathead around here. Lake Lewisville has some nice blue catfish. Grapevine Lake is pretty good for catfish too. If all else fails, try a fishing guide. They will usually help you find the fish. Good luck!🙂

This article might help too.

Generally I would have referred you to the Texas Parks and Wildlife website for their weekly fishing report. But for some unknown reason there isn’t one for Lake Georgetown???
You might try the TexasFishingForum website… once you join(it’s free) you can use the search tool and look up “Georgetown” and see if you have any luck there. 🙂

I was really hoping for more interaction from our area. Guess they don't subscribe here, because there has been very little. I get the weekly reports from the state, but was looking for more than that.

You might try the TexasFishingForum. Once a member,(it’s free) you can perform a search of the discussions; for example: by lake name; and get some pretty current information. I check Lake Grapevine occasionally. Hope that helps.

Wanting to compare reports from lakes in the general Fort Worth, TX area. Particularly Eagle Mountain Lake, Possum Kingdom, Ray Roberts, Grapevine, Whitney, and Texoma. I recently started fishing Eagle Mountain because I live close to it, but not that familiar with the good spots. Any help is appreciated.

Texas Parks and Wildlife posts a weekly update on for each lake on their website. 🙂. You can also signup for the weekly reports.

Wonder who’s older... the fish or the fisherman?
