No saw. The only freshwater fish I keep are the ones that are gut hook. Some catfish now and then. And sometimes when I get into real thick crappie. All of my eating fish comes from the ocean. What I am eating tonight is vermilion snapper. Caught right before the pandemic. I will keep my to allowable red snappers Monday. I will probably keep 2 15 pounders. That will give me over 10 lb of fillets. Last year on the red snapper trips I caught around 25 or 30 red snapper per trip. Some go to what they call donations. People who don't catch any fish on the boat or only have one. Until the boat limits out. Which is 197 red snapper. It's amazing! I will dig up a picture of last year.

Well, getting ready. Got the taste of that saltwater fish in my mouth. Literally, Vermilion snapper. I am going offshore on Monday to the Snapper grounds. Red snapper opens Monday June 1st. Get some 15 to 20 pounders. I did last year every time I went out. I caught a Pond best out of my work Pond yesterday. 4 lb 6 oz. Beat the last big one I got out by 2 ounces. So needless to say I am excited and getting my saltwater stuff out tonight. Plan on fishing all night Sunday. And leaving to go 4 hours offshore at 7:30. Of course I will post when I get back. Like I said wish you all were here to share this dinner. One of you gave me some advice and use Old Bay. And you can see I did and am. Thank you

Well again, it's been awhile since I've posted. Sorry for that this Chinese virus thing, has got me doing a lot of work around the house and I picked up another Hobby. Shooting and building my own AR-15. Lots of fun, money, and patience! Which fishing has taught me. Fishing has been generally slow I fish everyday still. I still catch them but not as often as a couple of months ago. I thought I would stop in and show you all some pictures of what I've been doing. And yes the carp lived.

Someone? Left a window down in my SUV. The Minnow Bucket was in my hatch area. The raccoons got in in and made a huge bloody mess of the inside of my truck. Lots of cleaning to do. Had to go back to the bait store Andre up. Live and learn!

I have not been posting because I have been extremely busy. Not because I fell off the wagon or anyting. People say they don't have anything to do during the Chinese virus. I don't find that truth. There's lots of fishing to be done. And there is a ton of housework that I need to catch up on and I have, some. Yes I have caught fish. Not a whole heck of a lot though. I think the spawn is about over and they should be going in to post spawn. I really did not catch a lot of fish during the spawn. What do you know bass fishing! Lots of small fish I didn't take pictures of but here's a couple I did.

A new bass fisherman, must! Put in the cast! These fish are very finicky. They do not bite regularly! Sometimes they don't bite at all! Sometimes you'll catch four in five cast. Sometimes you'll go days without a bite, some days you'll have 10 bytes and no hookups! If you keep fishing. Keep putting that bait in the water you will catch the Bass! Good luck you will need it! I am new to the sport also but I have caught 200 fish in the last 6 months I fish three times a day though. You do the math that still isn't a lot of fish. But we love it! That's why we're here.

Yes, I do have to say that it was hard for me not to keep those in the last picture! But I have enough in my lifetime.

This is a Gasper goo. They sure do fight! 5 1/2 pounds I usually catch one about every 10 years.

Here in Texas. We are on lockdown order. One of our exceptions to the rule is fishing. It is considered acquiring food and outdoor recreation which we can do. Just can't do playground where kids would congregate.
