I may be different in the way I think and see things, but I believe that everyone who is serious about fishing has that Dream Fish they would love to catch one time in their life. What is everyone's DREAM FISH? That one fish that no matter where you go you just hope and pray is in the water and ready to bite your hook. I would love to hear about your dream, what it is and where they are located. Mine is a Goliath Tiger Fish. They are found in the Amazon I believe and even though they look incredibly mean and nasty I will bet the fight they put up is phenomenal.

Thanks Gordon. I though it would be a fun idea just to hear some fishing stories. Plus I live hearing about how big of fish people catch and what they caught it on. I am posting another fun one tonight that I am interested in learning.

Cat fisher and Plumbob... I was thinking about getting into kayak fishing. I would be interested in knowing what you changed and if possible if you have any recommendations on types of yaks to consider looking into.

Thanks Graywulff! I keep telling my self that even if I only catch a 1lb bass it's still a good day and the next time could be better. My time will come when I can start fishing big water and catching those 20+ pounders. But your absolutely right, for now I am just enjoying being outside and having a line in the water.

Those are all great... I have never caught anything near that big. Even the 16 lb beats my biggest catch by far! I only dream of catching something that size.

This is just a fun thing for people to answer but what is your personal best fish people have caught. There are so many of us from all over the place so I thought it would be fun to hear what big fish people have caught and what they used to catch it with.

As much as I love a good debate or conversation about fishing. Let's not argue. Let's try and remember what this site is about. It's not about weather someone is using a bait caster, spin caster, old zebco, fly rod ,or even just a stick and some line. It's about helping people become better fisherman and passing wisdom and tricks to do what we all love. If someone doesn't exactly know what their equipment is it's ok, doesn't mean they can't offer advice. I am not trying to cause an argument, I just want everyone to get along and offer help and support I'm doing what we all live to do and that is getting out line on the water and catching fish.

I can't agree more. Practice practice practice is the key. I am still learning how to use a bait caster. I will eventually work my way up to mono, braid and other things but for now the best thing you can do is just keep throwing out line and reeling it in. Good luck.

Thank you for the advice. I had no idea Google maps helped with new fishing spots and will definitely keep that in mind

I am from northwest Ohio and have been fishing the same spot my whole life. I live catching the fish in my grandparents ( now owned by parents) pond. I have recently researched public fishing spots like resivoirs ,lakes and rivers. But what I really want to find is that sweet hidden gem where I can fish for some monster bass. Perhaps on a pond that you see off of a highway of in a secluded area. The problem is I am also kinda shy when it comes to asking people face to face for permission to fish on private property and am clueless on how to find about about ponds next to the highways. Looks for any kind advice on how to go about doing that. I would love to see if I could catch my first 3 or 4 pound bass or bigger. Our pond doesn't have that kind of bass in it.

Well to answer your questions first, I would prefer a small 2 man boat. Don't need much. I drive a Chevy Silverado Z71 so Indo have 4 wheel drive and a two package. My budget is one I can't really answer because I don't know what's good for spending on a boat or how much is two much. I am not looking to be one of those "Boat Guys" like you. I am simply just looking for a decent size boat for a buddy and I to take on a river, lake or resivoir to throw a line in the water. But I can completely under stand the addiction part. The more I see people out on the water in their boat the more I want to get one to go out deeper and see what out there. But I highly doubt the wife would allow me to own that many boats LOL. Although sometimes I think the boats would be cheaper than her in the long run.
