I am from northwest Ohio and have been fishing the same spot my whole life. I live catching the fish in my grandparents ( now owned by parents) pond. I have recently researched public fishing spots like resivoirs ,lakes and rivers. But what I really want to find is that sweet hidden gem where I can fish for some monster bass. Perhaps on a pond that you see off of a highway of in a secluded area. The problem is I am also kinda shy when it comes to asking people face to face for permission to fish on private property and am clueless on how to find about about ponds next to the highways. Looks for any kind advice on how to go about doing that. I would love to see if I could catch my first 3 or 4 pound bass or bigger. Our pond doesn't have that kind of bass in it.
Google maps can be your biggest friend when it comes to searching for new fishing spots. Keep that line wet and good luck on your monster bass hunt
Thank you for the advice. I had no idea Google maps helped with new fishing spots and will definitely keep that in mind
Look 👀 on the ground, if it is full of beer and soda cans, empty worm containers, stuff cans, cig butts, fishing line, fresh used toilet paper, you have found a great fishing spot!!!. That is for the great waters of Floridarican, salt or fresh waters!
Read a SPOON PLUGGING BOOK! PLEASE

In Florida I found a book that was county maps it showed the smallest of ponds, then I went to the tax collector's office and found out who owned them. I went and talked to some of them. Go without your fishing gear and try to get permission for later. If they say yes get a phone number so that you can call them before you come to fish. When I fished I would clean the fish at the pond and then stop by the house on the way out and offer them some of the fish. If I had only caught one nice on I would give it to them. I had people calling me at home asking when I was coming back to go fishing. Now that feels good.
Yes! Good folks are hard to fine in these last years of life!! You are a good person, my hat 🎩 is off for you!!
Hey Aaron, Garry is giving you great advice. Overcome that shyness that you mention the worse that could happen is they say no. Its their right, they may have had a bad experience with others or have insurance issues. When you get that yes, don't leave ANYTHING behind and if you don't have any fish to offer them just thank them again and let them know you are leaving.

I am very shy just like you . By Google map , I found a spot of a creek i 'd like to fish with my Kayak . There are 2 boat ramps but they are too far from the spot , but then I found a private lot next to the water , near the spot . It took me a long time but finally I decided to come and ask the owner , who happens to mow the grass for permission to launch the kayak , I thought the worse think is he says No . But to my surprise , he say yes and very friendly . I am so lucky .
See! We have good folks around us! You just got to fine them!!!!
