Spend the extra 50 bucks or so and get a st croix mojo bass - go medium light, they fish a little heavy. You won't regret it, that slx deserves it.

I really like mine. Decent power and sensitivity. Casts like a dream.

Probably for Hawaii, if you were going after bone fish specifically, the. #6 and #8 single hand should get you through most wind conditions.

Now if you were going after bigger species, ie get a chance to get on the boat, you probably wanna get a heavier weight rod like #10+

Great choice. Lots of remote and beautiful places to catch them. Boundary Gap Lake north of the Denali Highway.

Y'all USA'rs realize ONTARIO is about 2000+ MILES from British Columbia, don'tcha ? LOL.

Might be solid recommendations, just wrong side of the country he was inquiring about.

Gator guy lives in North Carolina. His post did not specify where he wanted to fish.

Try Northern Rockies Lodge at Muncho Lake in Northern BC. Urs has some great spots to fish. There are remote cabins available. https://www.northernrockieslodge.com/3for2

Agreed. Not an issue with the oil. It’s a mechanical problem.

Spin casting reel. That’s what I started on 64 years ago. Didn’t use poppers.
