Are there any good apps that would let me know if fishing conditions are favorable in my location BEFORE i load up all my gear and head out ?

I ask because i seem to have spent a lot of time wasted because the tides or current were “ wrong
“ or the lunar cycle wasn’t right..etc...

Don’t know if such an app but USGS site has flow data for most of not all rivers and streams.
I use this from time to time.
Doesn’t take too many trips to determine what flow rate is favorable. Pretty handy.

Thank u Ben...ill check it out.

Would seem to me that with untold millions of fishing enthusiasts someone would figure an app like this would be a hit.

They have an app for everything else.

I get the tides. That can make a big difference as to when you would want to be at a certain place.
The lunar cycle, not so much. We've been catchin stripers every Saturday for the last 2 MONTHS nearly.
A lot of those Sat. the lunar cycle said POOR fishin. We caught 50 to 60 fish each of those days.
I would stick to the tide tables and go fishin every day you are able to get out there.
Besides, it beats sittin at home on the couch. Ain't gonna catch nothing there but a nap.

I spent a couple hours yesterday morning in the surf without so much as a nibble only to have the guy at the tackle shop tell me i had wasted my time because there was a new moon a few nights back and nobody’s catching anything....lol....i was floored.

I agree. Used it in Alaska and now in Costa Rica.

I use Tides Near Me. I think both are helpful.

Fishbrain. But it requires a subscription before using it for “free”. The subscription fee is deducted after the “free trial period”.
Of course you can cancel at any time prior to that. I generally avoid these types of “deals” myself.

Go to your app store on your phone and search for "coastal tides" and also in Fisherman has a best time for fishing calander and there's a bunch of lunar calander apps in the app store. You can load your phone with them. I used to try fishing by all that. But now I just try and fish when the moon comes up around the same time as the sun. Mix that with the right tide, right barometric pressure the right bait and days off., You'll never go fishing again.lol just go have fun.
