We’re leaving on a 4 day catfishing trip. My buddy, also the guide, is worried about the moon being full. Does that really make a difference?
Definitely a chain pickerel. Look like a pike, have teeth like a pike and bony as hell like a pike. Lots of fun to catch.

Artifoo is dead on, it’s a tailpipe. Look at the fins. It has a continuous dorsal. Black drum have a separation between the front a d rear dorsal find; also the body shape is way different. Thirdly, it was caught in a pond, not brackish or salt water. Response from fishermen is excellent. Great people, great fun!!!
Thanks for the reply. We are going on a four day camping catfishing trip, targeting only catfish. We have a variety of bait, but I want to try small bluegill in one pole. We’ll see what happens. I will post the results after the 22nd. Any other advice is welcome.

Anyone have any luck using small bluegill as bait for the large ones?

Frick’n crazy. You must have cajonies the size of bowling balls to catch fish that way. Definitely manly; however, I know of ladies that do it.
