Although scent may be a factor it could be the action of your lure instead. To mask any scent problems try some of the spray on lure scents. Either garlic or shad scent works.

On the action of the lure, try changing it up a bit. If the bass are "looking" at your lure it's doing jt's job. Now you need to figure out how to make them bite it. I've read where bass are kinda like cats in that you have sometimes have to trigger them to bite. If you're fishing the spinner momentarily pause the bait then start retrieving it again. With the worm try fishing it just a bit faster or slower. If you see the fish checking your lure out you may can make the lure appear that it's trying to get away from the predator. An "attempt to flee" could initiate an impulse strike.

If the prop was slipping on the hub the engine would rev up but the boat speed wouldn't increase. Similar to a slipping clutch in a truck. If the engine is not spitting or sputtering then I wouldn't suspect a fuel flow or ignition problem. If it's sensor problem it could be a low oil sensor, water pump flow sensor, or an overtemp sensor putting the engine in a "limp" mode if the RPM won't come up. I don't know what kind of safety sensors that Yamaha puts in their engines. If none of those conditions exist then it could be a bad sensor. If the engine is a two stroke model with an oil injection system they usually have a sensor and an alarm the sounds if the oil level in the oil reservoir gets too low.

I wouldn't use a pencil in the spark plug hole to check the position of the piston. I work on motorcycles and I had a guy bring a bike to me that had a broken pencil in the cylinder. He was checking the ignition timing on his bike. I had to pull the head off the engine to get the broken pencil out. I'd use a plastic or cardboard drinking straw. They'll bend but they don't break.

Sounds like your motor has some sort of safety sensors on it that puts it in a 'slow mode' when it overheats or senses it low on oil. It may be neither problem but might be a bad sensor instead.

Go to the local store and buy the mower you want. When the one you ordered comes it, take it back for a refund.

I don't have the number of hummers this year that I usually have either. I mix my own food. I use four cups of sugar for a gallon of nectar. No food coloring necessary. Last year I had five of the largest Perky Pet feeders out and I went through 125 pounds of sugar. This year so far only about 25 pounds. I tried to attach a 22 sec. video but evidently the file is too large.

About five years ago, there was a report that a young female veterinarian had reported on line that she had just shot and killed a feral house cat and showed its picture on Facebook.

Well, there arose a hue and cry about it. Since she had shown evidence of killing the cat, it was brought before the State Vet board. In the end she was fined and got her license suspended for one year. This is Houston and a large metropolitan area. It has in its population some people who had rather see a 1,000 grown nesting birds killed than one semi feral house cat.

The supposed owners of the cat, or those that claimed it, said it had a name and would never do such a thing. Obviously, they had no knowledge of the nature of this or any other cat that's allowed out at night to roam and hunt. That's their nature and cannot be changed. House cats should be kept in the house!

I still advocate any hunter out in the woods who sees a cat, shoot that cat! Save untold number of young helpless birds. If the cat hunted to eat, but they don't. I sent an email to the young unemployed vet and told her her mistake was posting her good deed on the internet. There are too many whinners who have no idea the destruction caused by "innocent" house cats.

I expect I will get some flack over my opinion and solution. I have been a quail hunter all my life, or until I can't walk and hunt. Any feral house cat I ever saw out hunting birds too, was a dead cat! Just Sayin...RJS

I have a friend that lives next door to me that raises chickens. Feral cats find their way in and wreak havoc killing as many chickens as they can. So, I have a rule. I call it "Rule 556".

What kinda reel is this. Any times I should use one. What is a good line to spool it up with. Would it be a good reel to learn to fish with. Can you unscramble this before a bluegill eats it. RKTCEIC.

JOHNSON SABRE. Lost the biggest fish I ever hooked using one of those. I didn't know you had to let the handle go backwards in order to have any drag. The fish popped a 20# test line. Sounded like a rifle when it broke.

Edit: you're right. The Sabre had a star drag on the handle. As long as you held the handle forward you had no drag.
