Budget baitcaster combo
Why do you want a combo? I seldom buy a combo except if I was either the rod or reel.

How do I figure out what I’m doing wrong?
Ya move. I've bank fished a lot and I pretty much consistently move. Catch one and stop and try a few more casts in that area and move along.

Bass crappie trout
Well don't remember the name of them right off but just west a ways is several, think they are called the Pot Holes. I understand they do well there on walleye. Been by several time's but never fished it, long drive for me. Good looking water though!

Does anyone do this?
Lake just west of Kalispell, Mont we used to fish for trout in. Get there and wade the shore turning over rock's looking for what they called Itchy Bugs. Small marsh mellow on the hook and Itchy Bug on top was death on trout. Then as a kid ran out of bait oh the Hudson River upstate N.Y. and crimped some feather's I found on the ground onto the hook with a split shot and got a bunch of rock bass!

Maintenance - hard lesson learned
I use a leader fishing for crappie and catfish. Catfish taught me to change leader every few fish. those teeth they have are hard on leader and make it break easy. So after about every third fish I remove the leader and change it. Don't bother looking for nicks, just change it.

An inexpensive bass boat

Is your boat painted? Reason I ask is I drove trucks for many years. For them they required company stickers on the truck. Put them on the paint and even if they came off pretty good, you ruined the paint. Worked for a guy years ago he put those stickers on the fuel tanks, aluminum fuel tanks. All we had to do to remove them was pour on some paint remover and let it work a bit then spray it off with a power washer. Slick as could be!

Can we use earthworms for fishing from saltwater jetties?
Seems to me we used them to fish in salt water years ago, easier to come by and cheaper than blood worms. Come to think of it blood worms would bite also!

UL bait casting
First gun I ever bought for myself new was from Opplinger's Western Auto in Independence, Ore about 1963! back then a lot of hardware store's carried fishing and hunting stuff. Seems to be a thing of the past today. Oh yea. tha gun was a 12ga Mod 500 Mossberg with a c-lect choke! haven't seen a c-lect choke in a lot of years!
