Well thanks Clyde, we all know right where that is. Don't you think you could narrow it down just a little more?

I have two homes
In different parts of the state
One near Menasha
And my lake home near Shawano
I fish throughout the State
Hope this helps

Don't know anything about the brand you are looking for, but I highly recommend getting one with anchor lock/stop lock. Mine holds to within feet, against wind and current.

And the mapping feature is excellent. I can target a rock pile, river bed, grass bed, contour shape and go to it. I can follow tracks I've been successful on before. It's amazing. Since the lakes I fish are shallow, I use the GPS function more that the fish finder function.

I believe that the spot lock is a function of the trolling motor not the locator
I’ll be using the MinnKota Ulterra for that

Thank you to Ibclyde! I just bought the 9”Elite but haven’t had a chance to use it. You eased my mind. I was worried that I had made a bad purchase. Mine is hooked up to my Ix3 trolling motor.

Hooked up as in the transducer?
I was going to go with the 3 in 1 active transducer on the back of the boat

Maybe you don’t have the new elite series !
But if you do go to U Tube and ask how
I just watched it again to be sure I ain’t actually senile!
I have also seen it done on the simulator at the dealer

You can indeed adjust scroll speed with the Elite
The only thing the HD offers over the new Elite is screen zoom with the screen touch
Resolution is the same
9” Elite is $999.00
9” HD is $1,999,00

I have been wanting to upgrade my fish locator to one with GPS for navigation and lake mapping.
My old Humminbird 3D is too obsolete.
I Am learning towards the Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 Series.
Does anybody out there have any experience with them?

Thanks
Clyde

Looks like Jed is from California
Isn’t that the profile

We use Rosie Reds a lot here but mostly in the winter for ice fishing
They are a very hardy minnow in the cold
But don’t do well in the warm weather up here

Flouro in 3 or 4 lb test would be ultimate!
Hard to find the 3lb test though

I have never broken a St Croix
I fish a lot
3 times a week for over a half a century
I have broken other brands
Usually as a result of abuse
If you inadvertently whack your rod against something hard it won’t appear that you compromised it until you really bend and stress the graphite windings, then snap.
It gets blamed on a fish but that’s not the case.
So I really really take care of my high end Legend Series St Croixs

Word on the perch shortage, at least for Lake Michigan, is that they have been getting eaten by the Walleyes!
