I have been wanting to upgrade my fish locator to one with GPS for navigation and lake mapping.
My old Humminbird 3D is too obsolete.
I Am learning towards the Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 Series.
Does anybody out there have any experience with them?

Thanks
Clyde

I was a humminbird guy for years.. last year made the switch to Garmin. They are one of the Global leaders in GPS. The units are Very user friendly (read: this dummy can understand) Just works nice outa the box, and the Active Captain app is great to use especially on a tablet.

Don't know anything about the brand you are looking for, but I highly recommend getting one with anchor lock/stop lock. Mine holds to within feet, against wind and current.

And the mapping feature is excellent. I can target a rock pile, river bed, grass bed, contour shape and go to it. I can follow tracks I've been successful on before. It's amazing. Since the lakes I fish are shallow, I use the GPS function more that the fish finder function.

Yeah don't go with the elite or hook either one go with the hds gen 3 or if you can find a gen 2 you cannot adjust your screen scroll speed in elite or hook the hds gen 2 and 3 you can and also bridge two finders off one transducer. I have all three you will be happier with the gen 2 or 3

Now you are referring to the trolling motor
I’ll be using the Ulterra

You can indeed adjust scroll speed with the Elite
The only thing the HD offers over the new Elite is screen zoom with the screen touch
Resolution is the same
9” Elite is $999.00
9” HD is $1,999,00

Thank you to Ibclyde! I just bought the 9”Elite but haven’t had a chance to use it. You eased my mind. I was worried that I had made a bad purchase. Mine is hooked up to my Ix3 trolling motor.

I just watched it again to be sure I ain’t actually senile!
I have also seen it done on the simulator at the dealer

Hooked up as in the transducer?
I was going to go with the 3 in 1 active transducer on the back of the boat

I believe that the spot lock is a function of the trolling motor not the locator
I’ll be using the MinnKota Ulterra for that

I had a starter kit that connected the elite to the trolling motor and the 3 in one transducer
