Recently relocated to The Dalles Oregon from Naples Florida. Looking for information on good "shore fishing" opportunities in the area. Thanks in advance.
They just dumped a whole bunch of trophy trout into Harriet lake.
Almost looks like paintings.
Okay now, can we get down to business? All proclivities aside. Right now they are at Bouy 10. Kings and silvers and it is hotter than hell! There are several guides giving daily reports on it on YouTube. Sure do wish I could get out there. 😕
There are a lot of natives in the catch but in a few days they will become legal to keep - at least the Kings. Unsure about The Coho. And Chinook have made their way on up the Columbia River, crossing the Bonneville dam. And there is a fishery going on up there.
And there is a place in the Bouy 10 fishery where you can fish from shore. You can cast spinners at a place called Social Security Beach.
A few years back I did a video from a charter boat fishing Buoy 10. You can go to my YouTube channel and scan quite a ways down the list to find the mayhem. I make a lot of videos.
At bit late for the fall Salmon run. A bit early for the steelhead. But you will find some at the coast in december.
We fished there last fall. It was slow. Mostly using the tried and true Herring and flasher combos. Down in the flats near the mouth, I tied on a shiny Magnum wiggle wart and got slammed by a silver Nate. We were allowed to keep one Nate.
From looks of things. It looks like you are well equipped for that bar. Carry on, sir.
Not a lot of Big Time action at the moment. But Summer Chinook and a hella Sockeye run still remaining in the Columbia if you can get out there.
I can tell you, that River has some pretty strange regulations concerning the salmon. The Coho in particular. You got to look at them real close.
Dunno what's up with the steelhead these days.
But I will tell you this. That fall Chinook run can be killer if you hit it right.
Salmon R. Just out of town. Huge fall Chinook in there.
Wind River from the bank in late May is my secret hotspot. #FishFinAddicts
Yep, I read the Guides Forecast every week. Didn't see any report on the Sandy River last week though. I'm on the upper Sandy in Brightwood and wondering if a few Winters might be making it up this far?
Curious on any steelhead reports on the upper Sandy River, Or. Does anybody know if hatchery fish go all the way up to the Salmon River around Brightwood?
