I'm kinda surprised Army won. I read somewhere that Army was only planning on dressing 18 players. They'd been working on it and practicing since the start of their schedule, and the Generals had decided that the rest of them could do it on their own. Pretty good job, dog faces.
Anyone care to hazard a guess as to who I'll be rooting for?
You guys look down on Bill Maher, and I get that. But he really doesn't have much good to say about the far left. And I'm a liberal pinko jew lover. Tune in and give him an ear sometime.
Man, that looks like it was just installed. You sure don't see em very often, and if you do they're generally trashed to the point of unusable. Was it somewhere with no cell service?
Bass, bluegill, crappie, perch, those all went deep and you had to be into ice fishing
(not me) to have any luck with those guys in the winter. But unless it's brutal cold, the rivers don't freeze over. I used to fish the Kankakee over by my grandad's place in Libery Township on New Road, west of hi-way 23. Year round most years. Fishing's slow, but they're in there and they're hungry. Catfish out of that cold river water are some good eating (if you're into that sorta thing?)
While you're out looking for places to fish, get your butt up to New Buffalo Michigan and stop in at Redamak's - best hamburger I've ever had. I promise you won't be sorry you went. Unless you go before March 1st. They're closed for the season til then. Look em up on line.
Yeah Kerry, what kinda blanks are they? The ceramic eyes are easily replaced.
Hey you all, not to change th subject, but yeah to change the subject - I've got twin teen granddaughters I'm looking to buy Christmas gifts for. Looking for advice/suggestions. These "twins" are nothing at all alike. Look nothing alike. Hadley is tall and wispy with long hair. Lorelei is sorta normal height for her age. They'll be 13 this January. L's, that's how I think of her cause she hates her name and wants to be called Oliver, is my fishin buddy, and she may be a lesbian or or one those guys in a girl's body. I don't know, I don't understand any of that. All I know is I love he no matter and that's all she needs to know right now. Tall and wispy is very girly, no interest in fishing, she is grampa's girl . Totally different kid. Which is as it should be. She wants a bicycle. I'd like to get her one. What kind? Help!
When I was her age I wanted a Schwinn 3speed. Red. Skinny tires. I wasn't a girl. And please don't anyone the old "she'll like it no matter what you pick out". 40 years from now probably. I want her to like it for Christmas, and look back fondly. Know what I mean? I remember the year I wanted cowboy boots and my grandpa kept telling me he was getting me a doll. So when I opened my present at his house that morning, right under the lid was was a Raggedy Andy my grandma had made me by hand. Of course under the doll was pair of boots. Don't know whatever happened to those boots, but that doll is a cherished gift from my past. Still got it.
I got yours Kandy, I love to shop. Black Friday leaves me pretty cold though. Nothin they have that I want that badly, even if they're giving it away. St. Croix rods and Shimano reels I might (might) show up. OK probably. I went once. I told Kathe, never again. People going nuts hurting each other over 16MB flash drives. No thank you.
Depends a lot on how cold it is. I grew up back there, in North Liberty. Graduated from Liberty High School, 1966. Yes I'm an old fart.
Very glad to hear she's improving Larry.
#1 Brook Trout. Which are not trout at all, they are char, as are their big relatives the lake trout. All other fresh water fish run a distant second as far as table fair go.
Channel cats from a clean running river
Northern pike from cold, clean water
Yellow perch
Rainbow trout from a clear mountain stream
All of these fish are delicious prepared in various ways, but they (and most other, including carp) depend on the quality of the water they come from for optimum taste. Fish from fouled water will have an off-taste, no matter the fish. That's why brookies are always so good - they can't live in bad water, they'll die in it.
I see you are new to the Stage jimmy. Please allow me to be among the first to serve you up a ration. Right along beside the deltadog. Where's the picture?
