My wife snapped the tip of my 5wt. off yesterday closing the cooler. It was only 3inches. I told her I would try and glue it back and if that didn't work I could order another tip section from the manufacturer. Her reply was ; "
Or you could just buy the 8 ft 3wt you were talking about wanting."
I am going with the replacement tip section, much cheaper, if need be.
Keep in mind she is also a flyfisher who consistently out fishes me. As Tommy Smothers would say "fish always like her better"
Nice fish. We will be there end of August, after spending three weeks in Montana and two weeks up in Northern Idaho fly fishing. Do you have a suggestions for fishing Henry's fork? Hopefully the temps will be back in the normal range by then.

What other flies could I begin to tie with limited materials I have everything needed for elk hair caddis, pheasant tails, Rambo nymphs and midges but I'm wondering is there anything else I could tie with these

Look for this book, Fly tying with common household materials . There's lots of things you can get inexpensively or that you already have lying around the house that will increase your tying options.
We fly fish primarily. The fishing in CO is pretty good. We have been travelling fulltime for the last 4 years. This year we will be fishing in SD, MT ID and UT on our way back to AZ for the winter. Incidentally there is some excellent trout fishing around Showlow AZ.
We will be in Heber UT this August to fish the Provo and Strawberry Reservoir. Wear is Clinton by the way?
The critical measurements are the width of the boats at the point that they will rest on the saddles and the widest point of the two boats between the saddles.
Nevermind, I zoomed in and can see that it is a spinner.
Are you fishing with a fly rod or a spinning rod ? I could not tell from the picture.
Don't worry about tying them down. With those forecasted wind speeds and your lack of kayaking experience leave the boats at home!
I lived in C S for 41 years . I have never heard of Kalvar CO. Where is it located?
Try using a beadhead Chironamide nymph as a dropper below a Mayfly emerged or an indicator
( bobber). Should work well if the fish are slurping up the Mayflies at the surface film.
Fur real! If they can note seat belts off what can they observe you doing in your own home? LOL!!
Try Manitou lake north of Woodland Park on hwy 67 for trout. North of Woodland Park on Hwy 24 is eleven mile reservoir ( trout ,northern Pike and Kokanee salmon. There is a tackle / fly shop on the N W corner of Hwy 24 and 21st street in Colorado Springs. They can tell you where the better places to fish to maximize success.
On the bright side, you and your GD will have a memory and a story to remember and talk about for a life time.
Captain, just wondering, what are the leather (chamois strips )pickled in?
Check with fly shops and tackle shops in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. Also Sportsmans warehouse in CS.
