A couple weeks ago my roof bars broke off on the highway, lost both my boats and my whole rack setup. So I decided to get a nice set of Yakima bars this time to try again. I had J racks before but I would like to try the saddle style racks this time.
My vehicle is an 06 Honda CRV. The roof measures about 43inches across. I bought the 50 inch bars, but I am debating if I will have room for two saddle style racks side by side on that bar.
Does anyone have any experience with this and could provide me some insight? The store has 60 inch bars I could swap up to, but would stick out off my car more so if I do not need the extra length then I would rather stick to 50”.
Any recommendations? Are saddle style racks easier to load and unload? Should I do one saddle and one J? My previous boats were 57 lbs 10 foot sit on top fishing kayaks and I will probably be buying something similarly sized.
Thanks!!

Easier to get a used wave runner trailer, you can then stack the two.

The critical measurements are the width of the boats at the point that they will rest on the saddles and the widest point of the two boats between the saddles.
