Aww Saw I just asked him. I understand that the newest iPhones don't need a transducer. You just hold the phone over the side of the boat.

Never heard of a phone that could do that. If the unit does not touch the water, it will not return a signal.

What are you going to do with 100 fish?

Sting silver is a flat metal jig; this looks more like plug lure.

Put a little a Vick’s Vapor Rub under each nostril of your nose—kills any smell other than the Vick’s and helps with breathing.

First, they do NOT tip over easily. Second, they sip gas. Third, they can easily be rigged out with several rod holders, a cooler & a bait box, plus a wind shield. Most of those that I am familiar with are used in the lower Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. You can fish the flats for trout or scoot across the bay (12 miles) and fish around the pilings of the bridge tunnel complex.

Like most short Yaks, it will be difficult go paddle in a straight line— other than that should be fine.

Absolutely. I purchased all 3 of the reels I mentioned; a Shimano, Penn Senator and Abu Garcia. The Shimano locked up on a snook (8-10#) and the Penn locked up on a large tarpon. Both on the same trip to the Florida keys. I took them apart and all the internals were plastic. I returned them with receipt to Walmart and they would not warranty them nor refund my money. On the same trip, a Good Year tire exploded and came apart on the Interstate. I got the same bad news and so I went to Good year and same sad news. By the way, look it up on the Internet and you will find all kinds of stories about it.

You must have gotten them at WalMart; theirs must be especially made for them in China. Cheap, cheap and cheap.

I plan on it!!!

But for the future...

What would you recommend for separate rods and reels for saltwater fishing where the size limit on a Striper is 28-35 inches? I mean from what I’ve read up on, it seems like they can reach up to about 21 pounds for the max my state allows at 35 inches

Recommend going with a Penn Fierce or Penn Battle combo at around $100. Good all around set up and comes in several size reels and rod lengths.

As I sit here snelling crappie hooks a thought came to me.

I have seen inner tubes, waders, kayaks, canoes and a lot of different boats used for fishing but don’t recall seeing a jet ski being used.

Has anyone tried it or know why it could not be used?

I live at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and we have many fishermen fishing from jet skis here. Many have tricked them out with electronics, coolers, wind shields, rod holders, etc. They are able to get right up under the bridges of the bridge/tunnel complex that runs for 17 miles from Norfolk to the eastern shore of Virginia. They get close up to the piling of the bridge, fishing the rocks supporting each piling.

When they show up on the screen on the right hand side, it means that you just passed over them; they are now behind the boat. Turn on the “A” line feature; with that on it shows the fish immediately below the transducer.
