Have, but it gets congested bad now with out of work Williamsburgh folks strolling around. I kept fearing I’d snag some unemployed art handler, they suck up space to fish. And the N 5th pier can have as many a 25 guys lined up with multiple lines out 🤦♂️.
Same difference though. They were not there.
Well its how Stripers got to the West Coast.
I think if they have stripes its a female. I have no experience with these fish except this one, and yes it was extremely fat.
16” here and 24 a day! Never et one - yet!
Tautog. Maybe 15 inches? Great fighter, kept trying to get under snd around the structure, smart. One day to early to keep. I’m learning how to pier fish these pandemic days here in Brooklyn, fishing the NY Harbor.
So far, none big enough, but the Blackfish are!
Maybe 4 inches caught, seriously took the hook, caught over and over in the NY Harbor yesterday. I was fishing for blackfish, these guys kept taking my bait.
I haven’t had those issues. I keep a tight line if pier fishing, its polite and better to tell what the heck is going on down there.
Reds love shrimp. But do a search on the best way to keep it on the hook cause all the little tuggers will rob you until you’re poor. > Thread the shrimp up through its body the way one does a worm. Leave head on & go from pinched off tail up. Use a rig with a bobber and give the lead maybe 24 inches. Let the shrimp float about. Cut bait works too and cheaper too. If you rig for the btm your can hit lots of other bugs too.
You can get most anything up. Hit a monster, the walk to the end is as mentioned the best. Good luck!
