The green new deal will have us all riding donkeys and tripping over road apples on Emerald Isle lol
Oh , I remember one problem my dad had , trying to put the snake in the jug. The tail is tapered. So although the body of it filled the opening as it slithered in, it left a gap for its head once it tapered to the tail. That’s when his head popped out and tried to bite us. So we hadda catch it agin , and that’s when we got the stick to poke it’s head back in the jug and used the stick for a plug. So yeah , when fishing, sometimes you gotta improvise
Exactly! That’s exactly how my mother cooked the copperhead!
Tasted kinda like fried cucumber
It’s a fishin story of course it was the world record
While about 12, 40 plus years ago, hiking along a creek about a mile with my dad, me fishing and him just guiding, came upon a bridge. Under the bridge was a snake, 6’ copperhead. Dad was not normal. He did not have what regular people call “fear”.
He caught it and then looked around and found an empty plastic jug. He shoved the snake into the jug and crammed a stick in for a lid.
Then we walked the four miles back to the camper, yeah we took the road way back around the country block so he could show the snake to all the neighbors and cars that stopped to talk. Well not so much to show them but to scare them. Lol
When we got back to the camper, my big brother peed himself and my mother passed out. So yeah, when I go fishing, we catch all kinds of things
Ok thanks. Not much traffic by my dock. It’s about 17 ‘ deep about 50 feet out from the dock, in the area the average depth is 8’. A real hole.
Always catch something there, it’s tidal fresh water in rainy season, salt water after prolonged drought.
Just never fished with a green glow light. I hope it’s not illegal. Already bought the light. I’m early to bed and early to rise so I don’t know how many late nights I will try this unless I see some results
Ok.
Go deep.
Wait
So now the challenge will be keeping the 12 v battery charged so the light keeps shining for 4-5 hours
There’s no electric service in my jungle. It’s a camp site dock. Always something. Lol

JRFC Welcome to the forum.
Where and what r u fishin for.
If you fill out your profile with a near location you might have some new fishing buddies.
Fishing the upper peace river tributaries and boca grande pass. Started reading this blog months ago. Jumped in because I had a question about using bright green glow lights from bass pro, how well they worked , info , tips, I just never fished much at night and never before with any type of light. The question is on the main forum titled underwater fishing lights.
We catch ( hook, but not always catch. Lol) everything. These waters yield all type of things. I said things. Lol. I don’t target anything specific. Snook, snapper, tarpon, catfish, turtles, gar, gators, I cast out the shrimp or minnow. Or fake green minnow. With various depths in mind so various weights. And pull them in. And learn go. I guess...I’m very old school... two hooks with chunks of peeler crab, on a hand line over the side in the Chesapeake bay, was how I learned as a boy. My ggggreat grandfather and etc were watermen. It’s a long story.
Anybody try out the 1634 lumen bright green light they sell at basspro for 150$ bucks?
It seemed like a lot but I had gift cards to burn. Never had an underwater light. Never fished one before. Won’t get a chance to try it for a month. But I am here to say this.
Cujeezimee!!!. It is BRIGHT! I turned it on at my pickup truck, in the daylight, just to see that it worked. Wow it is bright.
Hi, just joined, just want to say that while fishing for fish, never seem to catch too many fish.( Never enough fish)...but always seem to get over my limit catching peaceful, satisfying moments at the water or on the water.
So I guess my motto on this blog will be something corny but applies:
Fishing for fish, but catching pure happiness
