Crystalbeachbum back to you. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Would love to go this weekend, but still recovering from a bout with lung cancer. I am in remission, but have some lingering issues with the chemo. I would enjoy meeting up with you one day in Galveston over coffee, swap a few lies and getting to know you, if you think that is something you would like to do.
I live in Crystal Beach across the bay from Galveston. Have always wanted to try a party boat but have been discouraged by others who say you spend most of your time tangled up with others. True or not? What is cost, length of trip and do you sail from Galveston Yacht Basin? What kind of fish?
I have a Penn Fierce II 6000 & 8000 both on 12 foot Ugly Sticks (2 piece). Great combo
Y’all forgot shrimp gravy. Waugh!!!
Make you wanna slap yo mama
Could anyone tell me campground availability in the Keys mid to late Nov. Got to try out this south Fla. fishing. But that is the beginning of snowbird season, I suppose, so may be pack jam full up
I surf fish on the upper Texas Gulf Coast. We have Stingrays. Lots of them. I have fished in tennis shoes and barefoot. Lots of people fish barefoot. I would suggest as others have to shuffle your feet when walking. That’s what I’ve heard. Personally never had an issue. My son got stung once. He wears fly fishing wading boots. They are a heavy boot, which I don’t think a stingray could penetrate.
I would also recommend spider weights. Preferably the breakaway design. They come in 2,4,6, and I believe 8 oz. The “legs” will hold firmly in the sand against the current and on the breakaway style the legs unfold when you go to retrieve. Good luck
