Yes, Andy I agree...it was a total rush when he grabbed it!

HF, In the future I'm going stick with some of the other jerkbait brands that cost a bit more.I always get the shallow 3 to 4ft divers because the cove I fish at, at its deepest point is probably 7 ft max, plus right now the bass seem to be hitting around 3 to 4ft deep.
Also, I like the kind that either suspend on a pause or slowly rise to the surface...less chance of getting hung up on a tree branch or rock.
Great, thanks Spirito! Yeah, it felt close to 1/4 oz but wasn't sure

Sounds good.Ill pick some up

So I got this Ozark Trail jerkbait cuz it was cheap and Iv tried Ozark Trail stuff before with success. Looked like a good shad imitating minnow but when I got home and got a closer look I noticed the weight was 1/5 oz. Can't even find it on a conversion chart. What line/rod should I use to fish this. I'm in jerkbait mode cuz I caught my first bass yesterday on a cotton Cordell jerkbait.
Just got the 20lb and 10lb...I'm going to return them at Walmart and look for one of the other ones
Thanks Gunner, this confirms everything Iv heard
I'm taking it back to Walmart. Plus I got moss green...it comes off on your hands and its a bitch to cut
Ok, Glad I checked in about this. I'm going to check out the power pro, suffix and smackdown brands.

I do have some spyder 10lb braid. Just bought this stuff at Walmart not knowing so I want to use it but I will look for the other brands next time
Yes replaced 10lb mono with 20lb braid
I used the braid on a spinning reel size 3000
Bought some Spiderwire 20lb braid and put it on a 6ft medium heavy rod with, I believe a 1/4 oz jerkbait...couldn't cast very far with it and I'm thinking the jerk bait was too light...any suggestions. On a side note I caught a nice bass with it today just couldn't cast very far...maybe 20 to 25 yards max
Anybody use Spyderwire braid
Humm, good to know Foodfisher.
