In my experience, wacky-rigging a Senco outfishes carolina and texas rigs.

Mustad hooks are excellent quality hooks. If you are spending a fortune on hooks you are getting screwed. You are also a sucker for slick marketing. What you need is a sturdy sharp hook. They aren't hard to find and good ones don't cost a fortune.

I love river fishing. I fish from a boat. If you are stuck on the shore I can't help you. If I want weight I will put a split shot above my hook or attach a short length of line with a weight on one end and a snap lock on the other. I attach the snap lock to my hook eye. But, I rarely use any weight.

I look for eddys in the current and cast just past them and let my bait drift into the eddy. I also look for laydowns along the bank, undercuts into the bank, and rocks. I cast my bait upstream and let it drift past these structures. Bass are ambush feeders. They like to hang in the eddies because they can conserve energy and wait for food to drift by. When it does they dash out and grab it and head back to the eddy.

I also fish all the pylons for any bridges I find. And if there is a hole around one I will tie on a jighead with a trailer, usually a creature bait or double-tail grub, and use that to probe the hole for a bass or two. Jigheads with creature baits are my goto bait right after wacky-rigged Sencos. I only use Sencos because bass eat them. I haven't found another bait that comes close.

The Curado is an excellent choice. I have a Curado G and the DC. Either will work for light baits and bigger baits.

I have been buying prescription polarized sunglasses for years and I like the Raybans with the black rubberized coating. The coating seems to help them stick to my face better especially on a hot sweaty day fishing in the sun. I also use a silicone eyeglass tether on them. They stretch and easily fit over the earpiece tail. The last thing you want to do is lose a $400 pair of glasses overboard.

This is good advice. If you search for "pedal kayaks" or "peddle-powered kayaks" you will get a number of different brands. There are some very nice pedal-powered prop systems out there and even options for trolling motors. The seat is also important. You want something that won't put your butt to sleep after an hour on the water.

I have a Terrova and I bought new side scan sonars for my boat for the bow and console. The Terrova's built in transducer is just a basic model so I dismantled it, attached my side scan transducer to the motor housing of the Terrova and ran the cable up the rectangular slot in the shaft into and then out of the housing at the top and through the center of the trolling motors coiled power cable. I cemented the transducer cable in place on the motor housing and the shaft slot with translucent outdoor silicone.

The entire description of how to do this is on Youtube and it works great.

Maybe, but until then it doesn't matter. Canadian law also makes free speech and self defense illegal. They are even more insane than we are.

That's Canada, Their laws are different than ours. Why should we be concerned?

Those are octopus hooks. I use those for wacky rigging Sencos. I get more hookups with a small octopus hook on a wacky rig than with the your larger J style worm hooks used for texas & carolina rigging. I also use rubber o-rings around the Senco. Those o-rings make my sencos last a lot longer which saves me a lot of money.

Not for a sit-on-top kayak. If you want a sit-in kayak, then yes, you will have a problem.
