Overwhelmed with choices - Baitcaster Setup under $200

Right now I am looking for a new baitcaster setup, primarily for bass fishing. I’ve been using an Abu Garcia Black Max which has been great, but I’m ready to step up to the next level.

Right now I’m overwhelmed with choices, and was hoping I could get some suggestions. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Daiwa Fuego CT, but there may be better options out there within my budget.

Thanks in advance!

If you have the chance, go put your hands on some down at a Bass Pro or Cabela’s. They are have pre-season sales and I am sure you can get a nice setup within your budget. Good luck!

I see in the BPS flyer, a nice Lew's Mach Pro combo for $179 , with WinnGrips and all. Check it out CreazD.

If I was to get a level wind just for bass fishing, I already got it ABU 2500. Got it years ago and looked at them on line recently and your looking at about $1200 min, I wouldn't pay that for any reel! My first decent bass reel was an ABU 5000. Used it about 30 yrs and lost it in a house fire. Got another right away. I think you can have as big a budget as you want and you won't get a reel better than an ABU. I think you said you use one now? In my mind you don't upgrade from an ABU, you simply spend more money! I don't own a reel in the price range your looking at so not sure where to go there!

I got a Diawa Tatula a couple of years ago and its the best reel that I ever used for bass. You can't believe the smoothness of the retrieve.
