Tube jigs are the classic smallie bait. Strike King Coffee Tubes or Berkley Power Bait Tubes. Hop em like a creture bait. Good Luck

What is the safest insect repellent?
DEET is approved as a safe and effective insect repellent. The concentration of DEET in a product indicates how long the product will be effective—a higher concentration works for a longer time. For example, 10% DEET provides protection for about 2 hours, and 30% DEET protects for about 5 hours.Jul 9, 2021
... and from ther New York Times
We tested 19 different bug repellents, including four permethrin sprays. And of those sprays, we favored the Sawyer’s the most.
Sawyer simply has more options than the other brands. We enjoyed the nice trigger spray, wide availability, and the variety of sizes.
If you’re treating a large piece of gear like a tent, Sawyer repellent comes in an aerosol bottle to keep you from wearing out your index finger on the spray bottle.
As much as we like using Sawyer’s repellents, brand loyalty shouldn’t get in the way of proper tick protection. Other sprays with EPA approval and the presence of 0.5% permethrin will repel ticks, such as Ben’s Clothing and Gear Insect Repellent or Coleman’s Gear and Clothing Permethrin Insect and Tick Repellent.
Is DEET a carcinogen?
Researchers have not found any evidence that DEET causes cancer in animals or humans. DEET has been classified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) as "not classifiable as a human carcinogen", which means that there is not enough evidence to say that it does or does not cause cancer.
I'm guessing another week or so. The old saying is "when the lilacs are blooming the crappies are biting" Good Luck!
Never fish Big St. but fished Little St. quite a bit. There's a bait shop attached to the gas station in St.G and Ray's Landing just N of the Subway.

OJ, Sorry for your loss. It brought memories and tears for my own.
But my new pup makes it better.

Electronics depend on how deep your pockets are! I like Garmin but good arguments can be made for Humminbird and Lowrance. Go on line and go to a box store with displays and talk to sales peeps and play with em. Electronics, trolling motors etc. can be linked but usually within the brand/family. So compare the options with your goals before you hock the family jewels. Good Luck!
It's important to know the depth and structure around the dock. Is there deep weeds or shallow sand or rip rap? That may determine the lures to use and even the species to fish for. Also time of day, early and late are usually most productive. If you can walk the shoreline, there might be more opportunities. Check Youtube for fishing the "wacky rig" with either Yamamoto Senkos or Berkley Max Scent worms like the General for bass. For panfish try Berkley Atomic Teasers with a crappie nibble under a small bobber and experiment with the depth. GOOD LUCK!.
If the Bears try to be bad enough they could win !st pick in next year's draft!
