Glad to hear you recovered and hope your wife recovers quickly.
Welcome back to the Stage and congratulation on joining The Club. It takes some time to get in the grove of being retired. Fishing has helped fill the days.
Klweger, try live shrimp floated on a hook at the jetty
A big thanks to Rafael, lorafa93, for turning me on to the jetty. The Snook got bitting and we had a great day. Rafael and I will meet up again.
Hey DE Jay, Welcome to the stage.
Hey TRIFF, Welcome to the stage. I'm relatively new to the west coast of Florida and saltwater fishing. I'm about and hour down to coast from you Venice/Englewood area. You should Check out some of the piers and beaches around Tampa and St. Petes.
Welcome to the stage Colonel. I'm on the west coast of Florida and just starting out myself. My best suggestion is to watch some youtube videos, check out the beach you want to fish and most important talk to the folks with carts. These usually are the locals and I have fond them to be friendly and helpful. Good Luck.
Brownsville Tony is right. I'm just learning myself. I have watch some videos, Salt Strong has some good ones, . Then went to beach and gave it a try. You will see what they are talking about when at the beach. Good Luck and welcome to the Stage.
I spooled my Pen Battle II 400 with 30lb braid and use a 3-4 ft fluorocarbon leader for bass in upstate New York and have had great success. I'm using the same set up with heavier leaders in Southwest Florida. I also have a Fin Nor LT 60 I spooled with 50lb braid that I use in Florida. IMO 20lb braid with a lighter fluorocarbon or monofilament leader. My personal preference is Flouro.
If I'm really not busy I like to try to chat with them. You know ask how they are doing, how the weather is etc. This usually really frustrates.
Welcome to the Stage from Southwest Florida Windtalker
I'm with Fredfish, give me a good Libertarian candidate.
