I met up with one of our other members yesterday to do some fishing. Dan and I had a good day. We each caught a few fish and lost a few fish. We’ll definitely be getting together again soon. It’s great having someone to share a day of fishing with.
What a great opportunity! Glad that you were able to connect with a like minded fishing partner and also caught some too! Enjoy your future outings!
Congrats guys!
Good luck next time as well!

Thanks for sharing. What kind of fish is that? Never seen one of those. I'm thinking it's a snook? Are they any good to eat?

I asked also. I think they're snook. But we don't have those here, so I wouldn't know a snook if it bit me on the butt.

Right now think I will stay away from anything with teeth.

Well one of those chewed the fingers off of his gloves.
You are correct sir. They are in fact Snook. I’ve never had the opportunity to eat any because of the Red Tide. They are catch and release only until the end of May 2022. The population will be re-evaluated to determine if they have recovered enough to allow any harvesting at that time.
It was supposed to be open this past June 1st, but the Red Tide bloomed with a vengeance, so it stayed catch and release.
I do hear that it’s an excellent eating fish.
for me snook it’s an excellent eating fish, one of the best, and they don't have teeth
