Most people hate them. I however, am a big fan. While they are not Northern Pike they are great fighters and aggressive fish. I fish Lake Winnipesauke in Moultonborough. I regularly catch them at 19 inches plus. I keep the ones 19 inches or longer. They are a challenge to clean as they have wye bones. Go to YouTube and learn how to remove them. The meat is delicious. The largest I have caught on this lake is 23 inches. This is my friend Joe with his 23 incher he caught last week. Is is a Southern man as well.

I agree max, the larger, heavier ones are great fighters. I just lose to many rigs to em. Small ones ones become critter food, large ones are released.

Who's happy? The person with a fresh new cold one ready to start.
And, you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!

What better place to store your vest in the off season than in your boat? My vest was in the compartment under the bench seat. The boat had a waterproofed (?) canvas cover. The boat was not wrapped with plastic. There had been enough humidity or water intrusion to dissolve the biscuit and allow the co2 cartridge to activate. Lesson learned. It will probably be prudent to keep the vest in a dry climate controlled area.
Still learning after all these years. A lesson for all of us!

That is the truth, Fg! Getting hammered at work so haven't been able to wet a line in a while and I really miss it!
Well DC, I hope things calm down a little at work, and you are able to sneak out for a little fishin', maintain the brain.
Fished my little pond on Monday, all I caught was pickerel, nice ones.
Fished Portsmouth harbor on Wednesday with 2 other Stagers, got Skunked.
Fished my little pond today, all I caught was LM bass, all over 1.5 lbs.
So, ya never know what, or if you'll catch anything. But one thing I do know is, it's always great to be able to enjoy fishing!

Being a southern man can you send side photo if available to see the colors, cool looking head and thick body. Are they bony or most meat on the sides? Looks like a surface predator did you get it on plug or bait>
Thanks for sharing the picture nice size fish.
SOB
Here is one I caught last night, just a little smaller.

Definitely back in. I want to be able to see in the lane getting out. I know what's in the slot when I park and the mirrors are set to see the corners. That Tahoe has a lot of real big posts to block your view.
I agree, been backing since I was about 12 years old. My father worked for for the feds, and always had me backing whenever I moved his car.

I donβt want to beat a dead horse, but the thread a while ago about wearing like jackets comes to mind.
I wonder if the guys out of Hampton thought about life jackets? Probably needed survival suits.
