So, there I was out on my boat by myself and just starting to fish with the sun coming up. Made my first stop with not much luck, so decided to make a move. I go to pull up the trolling motor and "bam" the rope breaks. This sends me flying backward much to my surprise. I live through the fall, and like true fisherman, continue to fish the rest of the morning putting the trolling motor up and down manually.

That sucks Garey. Glad you weren't injured in the fall anyway. I don't have that type of trolling motor, but I understand it's a common problem when they're a few years old.

That is not a pleasant thought, OBG. Nope, it has never happened to me.

A man has to do what a man has to do OBG, Adapt and overcame the problem at hand. Proud of you for not giving in and losing a sunny day to Murphys law.

But most of all glad you are okay, and did you look around to see who was watching?

Garey, I know TH Marine makes a nylon coated SS cable replacement cord, but I don't think it is available for a Minn Kota Edge model motor. I'm not sure if that's what you have, but I know it's the standard on Tracker Bassboats. If you have upgraded your motor, look into them.

Thanks Fred. Opted for a lawn mower cord as they do not stretch. Going to find out tomorrow, hopefully I won't attempt my flying act again: sm02:

Sounds good brother. Be careful, we don't want any PFD tests. Good Luck and Tight Lines tomorrow.
