Ranger I used to like to catch carp on a 5 foot ultra light & a small spinning reel with 6lb maxima line & a #8 hook it was a challenge to be sure lots of times the fish won but I sure had fun

I looked it up on "show my street.com"... Arlington is the main street through Gladstone use that before you go & you can see just where your going west Clackmas street runs along the river ....Cross park has the paved trail to the river

Remember in high water especially the first point in the water you can not see the bottom is deep enough to hold fish , sometimes you can catch fish right on the bank

almost every place I fished for steelhead or salmon was a place someone I met on the river told me about fish should be in the Clackamas & the Sandy right now the recent rain and warmth you have had pushed the rivers way up that should have spurred the fish on to move into the smaller rivers (my daughter lives in Ore. city and keeps me up to date) I'm betting the water is still high so be careful

it's been so long since I lived there (1997) , wish I could remember street names but if you go to high rocks then follow the road thru Gladstone along the river twards Mcgloughin you should find lots of palces Gladstone has a city park along the river with a paved path down to the river dont skip high rocks parks itself seems like it was the late 80's some guy caught a huge chinook about 100lbs right under the 205 bridge at high rocks
