I just got back from a week with Jim Sargent and Cindy Harvey at Lake Powell. Of the five days I was there we fished three. Between us we boated 102 fish, mostly smallmouth, we caught some small largemouth, I caught a walleye and Jim caught a dessert plate sized bluegill. We didn’t land any monster sized fish but the time on the water and the ferocity of the fighting smallies is just heart pumping fun!!! I have been blessed to have such friends as this.

Fantastic photos Wulffy ! So glad you had a great time with Jim & Cindy ,, nice Walleye & Smallie too ! Thanks for sharing my Friend !!πŸ€™πŸ™

Well it is back to reality today. After the great outing with Tyler on Monday was fired up to give DVL a try. Got to the lake early and it was fairly dense fog and cold until about 10:30. Throw in the algae bloom starting and moss on your hook about 75% of the time, not an ideal day. Managed 10 fish and all were small. Biggest, maybe 1 1/2 lb. Looks like I will be heading back to Skinner or maybe another outing at SanV.

Nice Catching Young Man ! Thanks for the photo ! We cancelled our trip to Laughlin, our 24 year Daughter Kayla was admitted to Kaweah Delta on Tuesday & got out this morning , oh well another time ,, see you soon. Young Man πŸ€™

I am putting a kicker on my Klamath 17 this week for safety purposes. I often take the boat out on Puget Sound. As I get older I have come to the conclusion that I need a backup to my 60 hp. Merc bigfoot.
I am looking for opinions. The motor will be a long shaft with electric start and power tilt. Thanks

I've had a Honda 9.9 on my Gregor 15' for about 14years Bapa, she has purred & trolled from 1mph with a troll master flap up to 3.5 mph steady, and most of all quiet , good luck with your choice Sir πŸ€

After our frost melted, I headed out to Beseck for a few hours. 44° at the ramp @ 10am, and the water temperature was 56.8°. Only a light breeze when I launched, but it picked up on and off all day. Most of my Bass spots were vacant but I caught a 2lb2oz Largemouth near the dam after an hour of looking. I checked the shallow end of the lake but saw no signs of beds. The warmest water I found was 59.5°. I fished docks all around the lake with no luck, but did catch a 1lb2oz buck on a blowdown. There were clouds of algae streaking the water, about 1-2 feet deep, all around the lake. Kinda unusual for this lake. It was an enjoyable day, and the trees around the lake are ahead of the one's at my house, so maybe spring is actually gonna happen. 🀣
