I like the Ozark fishing one at Walmart it has a notch for helping pull fish or a snagged lure in.

Balmy 3 here today heading all the way up to 12. And guess what I got picked to load the work truck outside and deliver parts today. Lucky me. But on the bright side where I got beef Saturday is minus 16. So I guess it could be worse. Have a good one all. Potato soup and good company of our Bible study group tonight. I need it. Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday. Everyone here is great.

We just have to remember nothing is guaranteed. One of the healthiest people I know 58 years old just died of Covid. Not overweight avid hunter and fisherman. Was planning of fishing with him this year. He did several roughing it trips to boundary waters. Kinda hitting hard today.

No I went to the lake Friday around noon. Could see there was a good 5 to 6 inches of ice. My wife called me and we had to drive 300 miles to Darian Wi to pickup 1508 pounds of beef. Then turn and burn same day to Salem In.( almost to Louisville ky. Then Sunday 260 miles back home. Only to find out brother-in-law who we took 1000 pounds of beef died of Covid Sunday night around the time we got home. His wife was glad we made the trip for them. Now shortly we will be headed back to Wi for the funeral so I guess so much for ice fishing this year. Probably going to have to help her move back to Wi because she has only been in In for 6 months. Going to be a hard spring.

Chain saw sounds the best since I have one that doesn’t get used often. Now I just have to get time this weekend.

Small lake near home for blue gill and Crappie. If I get adventurous and figure things out might drive up to McKarnes trying to catch a pike. I know they have them there along with Crappie and blur gill.

I’m pretty cautious only going to try shallow lake that freezes quickly without moving water. Planning to start by punching 1 in holes and measuring thickness every few feet until I get to where I feel there might be fish. Is 5 inches a safe thickness? If I remember I think we wanted at least 4 inches for ice skating as a kid.

I want to try ice fishing since we now have had 2 weeks of well below freezing temps. Anyone have a good suggestion for getting hole in the ice if you don’t own an Auger? I was thinking about trying my cordless drill and making a perforated hole that I could knock out with a small hammer. Has anyone ever tried this or have a budget suggestion. Not looking to spend a ton on gear until I know if I really want to do it?

According to my nurse daughter. Take vitamin C, Zink and get all the Sun exposure you can get before you feel symptoms. They say waiting til you get symptoms is too late. For some reason fresh air seem to help. Not Scientific but seems to be an observation of people working the Emergcy department. Where she is

Weather lady said today was going to be a dry day. Guess what it’s raining again. Another inch by Saturday. That gets us to between 13 and 14 inches since September 1. Most of our farm fields look like lakes. Too bad there’s no fish in them!

I bought a town and country minivan yesterday. Everything seemed to be on point and clean, very clean.. too clean now that I look back. I bought this and took off from Detroit for the 2hr drive back to bay city, got about 30 or 40 miles on the highway and boom, my transmission tanked. Didn't have it 1hr smh. Idk what to do the car is 100 miles away at a BP gas station, I told them i couldn't get a tow until tomorrow but they could tow it any minute due to their policy. Im so disheartened and hurt, mad.. very mad.. once I get it back home I can do something but getting it here will be a chore. Just needed to vent so thanks for that. God bless you and yours my stagers.

Not sure what year you bought. But I just junked my 1999 with 212000 miles. Had transmission problems every 3 or 4 years would blow speed sensors. Around 50 bucks for both of then at auto zone. About an hour to change. Had same trouble with our 2000. Hopefully something that simple

Like I said I’m no expert but I’m just repeating what worked for me. I also haven’t had much luck with top water baits. But I always try different techniques. Good luck
