I bought a town and country minivan yesterday. Everything seemed to be on point and clean, very clean.. too clean now that I look back. I bought this and took off from Detroit for the 2hr drive back to bay city, got about 30 or 40 miles on the highway and boom, my transmission tanked. Didn't have it 1hr smh. Idk what to do the car is 100 miles away at a BP gas station, I told them i couldn't get a tow until tomorrow but they could tow it any minute due to their policy. Im so disheartened and hurt, mad.. very mad.. once I get it back home I can do something but getting it here will be a chore. Just needed to vent so thanks for that. Tow it back to the place you purchased it. Hopefully they didn’t make you sign an AS IS deal.

I am the family mechanic for my wife’s relatives. I was sent to look at a car for her mom once. The dweeb salesman went on test drive with me driving. He kept telling me how important the look of it and the B….beep painted and armor all on the hoses etc under hood. I told the dweeb all the shining up doesn’t make it a better rig. The guy kept turning red and said let’s go back to the car lot. I said yeah that’s a good idea because no one I am doing a mechanical consultant service for is buying from you.

I would fight paying for it. Maybe you can stop payment on whatever form of monetary means you purchased it with but be careful to not mess up your credit. There is certainly a lot of SCUMBAGS in used as well as new car businesses. True SCUM.

Definitely not what you were expecting...that is a mystery on the part of the seller. Hopefully they did not sell knowing full well that an issue was coming to a head. Things do break down...but the timing sure sounds suspicious.

If it was a dealer there should be a fair solution for you and they will be honorable. If it was a private sale things might get sticky. When I sell a vehicle I give the buyer a full week to make sure they are happy, and I would take care of any unforeseen "surprise" repairs as long as there was no obvious abuse. Thus far, after many vehicles over several decades, I have never had anybody come back unhappy.

We just had it towed to the transmission guy I have done business with in the past, he will give me an accurate diagnosis. It was a private sale, so really the only options I have is to get it fixed and take the jerk to small claims court. He's a dirt bag for sure.

If it wasn’t a dealer not sure if can win in any court anywhere.

We’re all on your side though Denny. Just try to be cool. If you fix the vehicle hopefully it’s a good rig from then on.

I had a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. Wife and I both Cried the day we traded it in. We hauled our babies around in it. Many family vacations in it. We would camp and watch chitty chitty bang bang sitting in chairs behind it. Kids loved it too. The stow and go seats were awesome. I hope it all works out for you sir.

Hey Denny in your picture you look a little to young to be driving there fella😵👍call your insurance company they might be able to help you out and look into the lemon law as others have posted to get your moneys back

In dealing with the “Lemon Law” some 23 years ago on a “ new” Dodge truck you have to have at least 3 reoccurring issues involving the same failing issue. In my case it was the charging system. In a 2 year period it burned up 4 alternators. After significant paperwork I got a brand new truck and with a few upgrades at no cost. The ex still has that truck.😜…🐟on

My cousin had a new Dodge Diesel with Urea injection problems several times. Dodge provided a brand new replacement with Lemon Law used. This was in last few years.

Not sure what year you bought. But I just junked my 1999 with 212000 miles. Had transmission problems every 3 or 4 years would blow speed sensors. Around 50 bucks for both of then at auto zone. About an hour to change. Had same trouble with our 2000. Hopefully something that simple
