It’s sad, I know of three people that retired after me and have died in their frist year of retirement.

Well that's not encouraging....

Sounds like the way I use to always handle things. NOW. I have a calendar on my computer desk with all her/our appts. She fills out everything that she knows of for that month. Then as the month progresses, I fill in each week what days I can/want to fish.

I wish I could get my wife to use an electronic calendar. She's a retired engineer type. Refuses to use electronic calendar...lives with a paper organizer and post it notes. We have A LOT of those "I told you about that" conversations.

PapaJ why did you buy a 150hp motor? I have rented a pontoon boat for fishing and it had a 40hp motor that got us around as fast as we needed for fishing. Do you plan to pull skiers? I suspect the answer is you plan on fishing bigger lakes and rivers so you need to go fast. How fast can you go with several on board?

Why a 150hp? Because it was the biggest I cold get on the pontoon. :)

Actually it was to pull the grandkids on tubes and eventually on skis.

very nice boat PapaJ and this will be great for the family. I told my son That I would go in with him to share a cost on one. Very nice boat.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think it will be more what we need. I have two grandkids and the other boat just wasn't good for them. AND...my wife already has plans to take her girl friends out on the lake. I may have to reserve days so I can use the boat!

Saw,

I've ordered a 2022 SunTracker Fishing Barge 22 DLX with 150 HP Mercury.

Here are a couple of pictures from the website.

It's only been 3 weeks since I placed my order for my new boat. My dealer said that "it might be here by Thanksgiving but more likely Christmas." I'm trying to be patient but that's not really my strong suit.

Hopefully we will have some of those beautiful days that we occasionally get in January and I'll be able to take the boat out for the break in period. I suspect I will need to do a lot of parking lot practicing backing this thing as it is a lot longer and MUCH taller than my previous boats.

Oh well, thanks for listening to me whine. Have a great day my friends.

3:45A and wide awake. A lot on my mind today. Going to be a long day.

Hope all is well with everyone here today. Prayers for those who are sick. I know several who have COVID.

That's what I thought. Again, it wasn't a TP&W Game Warden.

I've emailed the State Game Warden Boater Safety office asking the same but it may be awhile before I get an answer.

I apologize ahead of time for the long post. I appreciate your input.

A couple of weeks ago my son-in-law was stopped by "harbor police" on a local lake here in Texas. NOT the Game Warden. When asked to present his life jacket he showed them his Ronix neoprene vest. It's a very nice vest...I have one just like it.

Now...the rub...

It says "USGA" and has U.S. Coast Guard Approval Number 160.064/8020/0. It does not spell out the words "US Coast Guard Approved" anywhere on it. The harbor police told them it was not a legal vest. Luckily, he had some others on board and didn't get a ticket.

I think the harbor police was full of baloney. I googled the approval number and found the following on the USCG page;

Here's the picture of the inside of the jacket;

I think all of this indicates it IS in fact USCG Approved...but I don't want to bet a citation on it. What do you say?
