Sorry Bucky ,it's now the end of the year and I actually just saw your message, I have to spend more time here to glean some valuable info and learn how to navigate this awesome site.
My entire saltwater season thus far has been nothing spectacular that's for sure .
Nevertheless,a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work anytime.
I fished piers more than in the surf .
I caught mostly small croakers, whiting, throw back Fluke (here they call them flounder) kind of funny because in the 3 years I've been saltwater fishing here I have not seen a flounder, lol ,all Fluke .
Load of pin fish which are good for bait, that was pretty much it for spring and early summer.
In the mid and late summer I did catch a number of small throw back flounder ( Fluke) some black drum , a few sting rays which were fun they are strong fish. Early fall, more of the same to include perch , late fall the same last week of October , spots showed up sporadically, Spanish mackerel from the large pier in Myrtle Beach , as well as the other fish species mentioned.
This month (Nov.)there was no big Spot run that we had anticipated.
I did however catch more fish by down sizing hooks, and using different rigs.
I'm slowly but surely figuring out this Myrtle Beach area fishing, which is totally different than surf fishing back in NJ.
The Jersey shore where I fished the surf we had plenty of jetties, and sea walls that held fish.
Here where I am is no structure along the beach.
I have caught some Florida Pompano in the surf , I have seen some Red fish ,but not caught any yet.
That's pretty much it ,I plan to start using more mud minnows ,and live shrimp in the hopes of catching some Red fish (Red Drum) and keeper Fluke.
Fresh water this year was a blast , loads of Bass, all released. One of these days I going to have to come down to Murrell's Inlet to fish, we have gone sight seeing down that way ,and I did go down to fish once but I could find no place to park, while site seeing I did see a few places that looked good in Georgetown , and Pawleys Island, I want to try at the state park down that way also .
How was you season this year Bucky?

I myself have not been in a while. the specs. just showed up , the flounder, redfish, and black drum, have been doing well. the fishing will be hot until the water temps. 55 or lower then they will become lethargic and harder to catch
