Most spinning reels have that on the bottom. It's an On/Off switch for the anti-reverse. When it's in the off position you can reel both forward and backward. Sometimes used in free-spooling techniques.
I live near Chicago and have ordered several times from Tackle Warehouse. Last month, I placed an order and received it 1 week later. This month, I placed another order for 2 reels and now 3 weeks later have yet to have them delivered. My PET PEEVE about ordering on-line is when a company states an item is IN Stock, but takes weeks to deliver. They should say "BACK ORDERED" if the item is not in stock either in the store or their warehouse. Some companies are up front about possible delays but many others just want you to PAY, rather than losing the order.
This puzzles me ! Why are we posting food expirations dates on this FISHING Forum, eh ?
The Ugly Stik GX2 has a one-piece EVA handle and the GX2 CUSTOM has a split-grip featuring a Winn-Grip Dri-tac
handle. I have several Ugly Stik rods and prefer the Custom's handle.
Seems ya been smokin' too ?
The guy was looking for advise, not jokes.
Others have given excellent sugestions.
I would add mine IF a price range for
rod and reel was made.
Forget the fly rods.
I'm sure that St. Croix Legend Xtreme Spinning Rod is a fine rod. But for my $600.00, it better Catch, Clean and Cook the fish for me. And my blood pressure would skyrocket if I broke or lost it. The St. Croix Triumph is more than good enough for most fishermen at a much lower price. If your a Pro, or really loaded, then go for it if you have a great deal.
Yeah, he probably will be a lifelong angler. The only sad thing might be, that at only 12 yrs. old, this may be the biggest fish he ever catches. Could be all down hill from here. But I sincerely hope I'm wrong about that !
Forget the canoe and those flat-bottomed Jonn boats. My 2-cents would be a small pontoon boat in your particular situation. More stable in rough water, good platform for fishing. Best for two or more persons but one can handle a small one.
I have a 35, on a Fenwick 6'6" medium action spinning rod.
Using 15 lb. braid, equivalent to about 4 lb. mono or fluorocarbon line.
Keep in mind most mono and braid FLOAT and most fluorocarbon SINKS.
Depending on circumstances, I may add a short mono or fluorocarbon leader.
Nice balance and hauls in Bass and Catfish.
Never heard of a SPINNING Rod with a TRIGGER on TOP !
Would like to see a picture of that gizmo !
Could be a spincasting rod ?
Or maybe a Spinning Reel with a TRIGGER. I have several
Pflueger's, Shakespeare's and Zebco's with that feature.
Often called "underspin reels" or "triggerspin reels."
Made to work with spinning rods. Basically a spincasting reel
with better balance but not top-heavy.
Report that to the proper authorities. Might be a way to get it re-stocked.
I have a 6'9 Sougayilang Telescopic Fishing Rod that I've caught lots of panfish, trout and even some bass.
Amazon has it that model for $27.99. 3 other sizes are available; all should be fine for most trout fishing.
STAY AWAY from that Daiwa Megaforce Telespin Rod ! READ buyers reviews noting many failures of this rod.
Way Overpriced.
Sougayilang Telescopic Fishing Rod
Eleven; multiples of these.
Hope he released it ? ARE YOU NUTS ??? That's a record breaking fish and a personal Best of a LifeTime !
A Crappie of 4 pounds, 5 oz. , 17 3/4 inches long and a girth of 16 inches.
He keep it of course, first weighed on 2 non-certified scales and a third time on a certified scale.
