Hello stagers,
The last couple of nights I've been working with a young man of only 24 years old. He is extremely polite as well as smart.
Jason wanted to get in on the trivia game.
Here's his question.
The late President John F Kennedy wanted to tell the German people, during the Cold War that he was a friend of Germany 🇩🇪 In German that is,
Ich bin Berliner.
He mistakenly added another word ein.
He actually said: Ich bin ein Berliner. This small world Ein. Changed the whole meaning.
Here's your trivia question from Jason.
What does Ich bin ein berliner actually translate to.
Sunday night/ Monday morning will be the last time we'll be working together so I would like to share your answers with him.
That's only 24 hours of posting time.

What about the tomato? It is a member of the same family (nightshades) as the potato, peppers and the eggplant that your picture shows as a fruit. Yet, while botanists consider it a fruit, the United States Supreme Court declared it to be a vegetable. Tennessee and Ohio rebelled and declared the tomato the state fruit but New Jersey declared it the state vegetable! And, for that matter, what do you consider a fig to be, vegetable or fruit? Careful, you may be surprised.

I have 3 #31 batteries (36 volt) in my 18' Skeeter and want to compare with 3 lithium 50 AH I don't know the cranking on mine but they are the max available. These will be used for trolling and wondered if anybody has feedback. My batteries take about 24 hrs or more to charge. Is 50 AH sufficient, is my main question. Ionoc seems to have good prices. I'm looking for as many comments as I can get on any part of the battery purchase. I don't know anything about different brands. Is 50 rather than 100 AH going to be enough power for a full day's use.

AH just stands for Amp-Hours. If you know the amount of current required, divide that into the listed AH and that will tell you how long it will last. For example, if power requirement is 5 amps, a 50 AH battery is good for 10 hours and the 100 AH battery is good for 20 hours. Look at the cold cranking amps (CCA) for available starting power.

Hello stagers,
I love French Fries. You can bake them golden brown. You can fry them or place them in a Air Frier. The crisper the better.
Here is your trivia question for today.
What do the French people call French Fries?
I'm sure that many of you know French so this should be a easy one.
I'll post the answer appropriately midnight Thursday or 00.00 hours.
Should a good number of you answer correctly I'll post it sooner.
If you're new to this game here are some simple rules.
Many of you get the same daily trivia questions that I do. If so and you remembered the answer or saved it for a quick reference by all means share your answers.
If you don't know and look up the answer then post it that is a no no. And of course if you know the answer show off your skill by sharing your knowledge with us.
Guesses are the most fun and certainly the most entertaining.

Assuming that people steal food because they (and.or family members) cannot afford any, I would say bread.

There is actually a color called sky blue but air is clear. Picture fishing in a clear blue lake, then take a glass full of the water. It is clear. Go figure.

Hello stagers,
I'm quite a learned person when it comes to many things, but am a complete dunce when it comes to Fly Fishing.
I will admit that I have never tried it and it looks like a lot of hard work to obtain the same results as a bait casting or spinning reel.
From what I've seen you don't reel in the line, but instead you pull it and let the excess dangle and float in the water.
Please understand I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, but Inquiring Minds Want To Know.
Please explain to me the concept and the why of Fly Fishing.
I wish to thank you in advance for this learning opportunity.

Wow. This question is a lot deeper than one may think. While "HolyGhost Fishing Services" explains the technical part extremely well, I feel there may be a lot more to it than the technical side. Why does one cook a turkey dinner when a few balogna (baloney?) sandwiches will fill you up just as well? Why fix up a home when a shack can keep you just as warm and dry? Some people (I'm not one of them) prefer to fly fish. They prefer to wade a stream rather than sit in a boat and jig for bass. Many prefer to tie their own flies to outsmart their prey. It is how they find pleasure. US fly fishing was invented in the Catskill streams around Roscoe, NY (Trout Town USA) near me. There are still parts of the Beaverkill where it is artificials only (no live bait) and barbless hooks only. And it is catch and release only. Why do many fisherman choose to fish like this? Each person may have his own reasons and none of them are wrong. Hook into a lunker and play him until you net him and you may like this too. Or maybe not. There is no right answer. Some people ask why waste time fishing when you can buy fish and spend your time playing golf or going to a ballgame or look for antiques, etc. Thank God we don't all think alike and live in a country that allows us to enjoy ourselves as we see fit. Or maybe I'm all wrong. What do I know?

You have a house where all the windows face south, what color is the bear walking towards your house?

White. You are at the north pole and the bear would be a polar bear.

I’m no expert in any of this but here’s a link to an inverter generator.

Thanks for the info. I was unaware of these. An inverter-generator seems to be a standard AC generator that uses rectifiers to change the AC output to DC then inverts the DC back to AC. This allows the generator to run at a lower RPM (frequency), rectify it to DC then invert it back to 60 Hz.AC. I assume these are relatively small and less efficient. But they do seem to have certain advantages along with more parts to repair/replace. In order to get something you have to give up something. If it's THD that worries people I would think that adding a small UPS to one circuit would be better.

Inverters are NOT generators is exactly right but many Generators of today have integrated inverters into them so the portion of generator only produce enough electricity for the load instead of a surplus that isn’t needed.

I am not familiar with this. Why would an AC generator have an inverter that changes DC to AC? I am familiar with larger gensets than small 3600 rpm 2 pole units. Home gensets only prduce the required amount of power. To get more power the governor would allow more fuel to produce more power at the given RPM. Newer larger engines turn off half the cylinders to save fuel when idling. One HP = 746 watts.
