up north in mi. we call these rigs spreaders attach two baitholder hooks sinker on bottom minnow on top hook nightcrawler on second hook bell sinker on bottom fish straight down off side of boat drift fish ,or anchor keep contact with bottom of lake with sinker kinda super sloew jigging method have caught a lot of fish in the great lakes with these ,Booo Yaaa !

generally set your drag at least when pulling line off your rod if your rod is bent at least 40% your good to go on open water that will work you can always tighten drag slightly after fish makes his first run ,on fishing snag infested waters lots of timber drags should be somewhat tighter, tip when putting rods & reels away for the winter always ,always loosen drags all the way in storage, adjust bac in spring, have never had my drag fail doing this, hope this helps , note some fish fight harder then others also consider currents in rivers as well

is there open carry in florida carring a side arm might of saved them possibly ,here in w.v. we have open/carry law I take mine if I am going to fish somewhere for an all nighter fishing trip ,u just never know

yes mike I use them off & on tying in front of your line to run your lures deep diving crank baits or spoons plastics any lure u choose great on deep water lakes when trolling to cover a lot of water .example to troll around 30 ,40 ,50 ,feet of water in summer when them big boys are!

good spring bait,, rattletraps are works good in really stained or muddy waters its a search bait as well.A loud clacking noisy bait for bass to hone on. hope this helps you; have a few gold, silver, perch, or chartreuse, should cover all conditions now sizes that's another matter

there good reels the longtiftiy on them is a question would not use if you fish hard every day or for living the key on these low-cost reels keep them greased , oiled up should be just fine .

ugly sticks are great to fish if you're on a budget, you don't need a $500 rod to catch fish, just get the right weight and tip action,your all set ugly sticks do come in different actions you won't be disappointed for the price

fished up in lake Erie on a charter for walleye with 3 other guys. was using vanish 8# fluorocarbon, others was using mono caught twice as many fish as they did catch the biggest walleye as well as the biggest sheephead .vanish is one of the best lines out there have fished with nothing else for years
