Wacky worm. It’s no joke for bass fishing. It’s considered a finesse style of fishing. I use it with regularity on a spinning rod/reel, usually along shorelines.

Senko style worm, rigged “wacky” with a weed less hook with an o ring to prevent hook damage to the worm. Supposed to be quite a productive finesse type presentation. I have yet to try them. LM Bass have been known to love them from under docks and in the weeds.
For sure a weed less hook set up but the o ring is a new on on me.

They make a tool to put the o ring on the worm
It's actually called a ned rig
The more I think about it , the O ring seems a gimmick. Keeps the worm from getting tore up? Don't see how? And so what?
Looks like a worm must be a worm 😁 you been fishin Mike
No no no it’s not called a Ned rig it’s a wacky rig with a weedless hook and an o- ring

Could be a Neko rig or a Wacky rigged worm, if there's a nail weight in the end it's a Neko rig if not wacky rig. There's very little difference. The O ring does make a BIG difference when a fish is hooked. with the O ring it the worm usually just slides up the hook, without the ring it's much easier for the fish to sling your worm off the hook. you'll normally get at least 3 time more the hook up's on the same worm with the O ring. If you don't mind buying a lot more worms don't use the O ring. If you want to just slid the worm back down the line and continue using it then use the O ring.

Weedless wacky rig, my guess is for weedless grass fishing for bass. I have used the wacky a lot with a 5” generic senko, but not weedless.

Perhaps the easiest way to go weedless is to use a 1/0 or 2/0 Eagleclaw weedless hook. Be sure to remove the worm when you are done fishing. They will rust if you don’t.
