Hey all, just signed up for the web page. Look forward to gaining access to all the fishing deets from the people. Heading to Lake Almanor this week. Never fished that lake. Doing research and found there are some lunkers in there. any tips would be greatly appreciated. Fishing from kayak and the shore. I see crickets and crawlers are the go to.

Matthewi

Hey that was my home lake for several years,,,you should hit the mouth of Hamilton branch from your kayak or either side of stream close to the mouth up to the bridge from shore,,trout and bass,,,,also top water in the evenings along the Peninsula for small mouth can be awesome right now,,,,,also lots of good spots in the timber along east shore,,,,or in front of dam for salmon,,if you cant troll throw a countdown rapala silver and black or rainbow trout pattern,,or inflated nightcrawlers off bottom,,,also the springs off the peninsula by rec 2 is a great spot for drifting bait,,,,man i miss that place !!!let us know how you do please!!!

Hello fish fam,so I got back from a three day fishing trip up at Lake Shasta, basically went up there to spend some time with my aunt and my cousins and nieces and nephews, I have not seen in a while, the weather was awesome, it was 75 up to 80° and on Saturday night, there was an absolutely awesome lightning show and thunderstorm, now the water is like every other lake we are fishing at, it is completely full, lake Shasta is 3 feet below the top of the dam, which also means that the water level is in the existing tree line meaning, there are very little fishing spots, at the specific Cove that they anchored the houseboat, there was only about a 15 foot piece of bank and that was it, so I guess I did pretty well, considering that I finish the living crap out of this little 15 foot of bank, apparently the fish I caught are spotted bass, I have not caught this many spotted bass in one sitting ever, all in all I had a great time with my family, and I did not get skunked, so I guess it was a win-win 🎣

Took a buddy out last Saturday on the Feather. Got out about 2p and fished for about 2 hours until we ran out of bait. I got 2 shakers and he got one and the only keeper, this nice 21 incher! It was a good day using up some week old minnows that I kept alive from our last trip. 👍

Mcfishin,,nice fish bud,,hey, do you ever go over to colusa and hit the sacto river?? Been hearing good things and thinking about making the drive up???

This was just caught at San Vincente Reservoir down by San Diego. For those that have never caught one, they are one of the toughest fish in freshwater. I caught a 1 1/2 pounder one day and it felt like a 6-7 lb Lmb. This fish had to be one hell of a fight! Was a lake record at 4.2lbs.

Obg,,,yes I agree they really pull for their size,,,when I was a kid my brother and I got into some lunkers and thought we had caught record bluegills!!!! They fight like twice their size,,that one in the photo is a monster!!!

Went out to Skinner today by myself this time and did really well. Went to my new honey hole that we now call 3Lb Bay. Stayed there all morning until one last stop before going in and got one more there. I think my top 5 were around 20 lbs. Most of the others were in the 2.4-2.6 range so didn't post those pics. Got a new fish scale and do not care for it as it has a hook instead of a grip, so it is going back. Will let the pics tell the story.

Obg,,way to get her done my friend,,,good job catching!!!!!!!!

I'm interested in 2-4 # trout, although would hate to lose a 10-15 # for the fun. Will probably be trolling mostly. Have rods for bigger fish as well.. need advice on # test leader line as well as # test reel line, lures, areas of Lake, tips on depth, etc. Will have 15 hp 4 stroke & electric trolling motor, 14' alum boat. All service greatly sppreciated!
Thanks! Capt Bridgers

If you are on water very early in morning or late in evening try silver and black or rainbow color count down rapala along shore,,,good luck
